More Chicken Research

One Step Closer to Heaven

Today I got back to work on my fried chicken recipe, and I made some good progress. I have had a lot of frustration with chicken dishes, and frying things is not my long suit, so it would make me very happy to get fried chicken working correctly before I die.

I made fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy.

The chicken breading was very tasty. Almost where I need it to be. Here’s the breading ingredient list:

INGREDIENTS
1 cup flour
1 tbsp. salt
5 tbsp. white pepper
1 tbsp. chipotle powder
3 tsp. garlic powder
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. turmeric
3 tsp. ginger

I used beaten eggs to make the breading stick. I see a lot of Internet people coating chicken which has been dried with paper towels, but it hasn’t worked for me.

I have quit trying to find scent-free lard. Today I used refined coconut oil. My buddy Mike told me about it. The coconut smell has been removed, so what you end up with is a lot like quality lard. I bought a jar at Winn-Dixie, and I decided to reserve it for frying things like chicken. I’ll keep pouring it back in the jar after I use it, until it develops problems.

The white pepper in the recipe has to be reduced. White pepper smells a little bit like a dog, so if you overdo it, your food has the same smell. I’m going to cut it severely with black pepper. I think I’ll also reduce the chipotle a little. The salt needs to be increased slightly, too.

I had to use boneless chicken because no one sells genuine frying chickens near me. A fryer shouldn’t be bigger than three pounds. Chicken pieces that are too thick just don’t work.

I thought I was cutting the chicken thin today, but I need to be merciless next time. Nothing more than half an inch thick, period.

I quit using a fancy marinade. I used orange juice, lots of salt, and fresh garlic. I think it’s sufficient.

I don’t believe all the people who say to fry chicken at 350°. It always burns. I shot for 300-325°, and it worked very well. I used a thermometer probe dangling in the skillet.

The next effort should be excellent. After that, I may try doing something with a mixture of corn flour and wheat flour. Something not too far from corn dog batter.

Sooner or later, this will work. Then I’ll spite the world by taking the recipe with me to heaven.

As for potatoes, I’m all done boiling them. It’s too easy to make them grainy. From now on, I’ll bake them and then mash them. It’s less work than boiling, anyway.

My Life as a Joseph Heller Character

My life is like a French absurdist play.

As I have written, I tried Christian Mingle, an online dating service. I learned that everyone who showed any interest in me, apart from a few women who were extremely unattractive, was actually an African scammer. In fact, the unattractive women are probably scammers, too. I didn’t investigate because I didn’t want to deal with them at all.

One scammer admitted what she had done. I say “she,” which is a guess at this point. We have exchanged a few emails. She apologized and genuinely seems interested in prayer in tongues.

Last night, two “women” with real profiles complete with multiple photos initiated contact. I thought it was a little odd that women 20 years younger would do that, but what the heck. They didn’t have that scammy look, and they didn’t act like scammers when I responded. They took hours to respond. Scammers are generally very quick, like fishermen trying to set a hook.

Well, I heard back from both of them. They’re scammers after all. I mentioned Africa and scammers, and they stopped responding instantly.

Am I a scammer, too? I must be, since I’m on Christian Mingle.

Here is the weirdest part yet. I realized I had a potential ally. I have emailed the scammer who apologized to me, and I asked what it is about my profile that draws scammers. It’s genius, but it’s also exceedingly bizarre.

Another one contacted me a short while ago. I knew what I was dealing with, but I responded anyway, because now I have accepted my position as official liaison to African scammers. I asked if she was in Africa, and she insisted she was in San Jose. Her profile says Utah. She said her friend in California set up the account. I told her it was easy to pick out scammers by asking them questions an American would be able to answer.

She actually challenged me to ask her. I said, “Do you have any thoughts about the recall?”

I knew that was a tough one for a person in Namibia or whatever. I didn’t give her any clues as to what a recall was or who it involved. She ignored the question.

Why don’t I just move to Africa? It would save time.

It may well be that every single person I have interacted with in any way is a foreign scammer. So what did I pay for?

I would guess that the elderly women who contacted me, and the lady who has no hands or feet, were genuine. Maybe the really obese ladies were real. Scammers try to use accounts belonging to alluring women. But I may be wrong. They’re pretty crazy.

I don’t know the answers. I don’t get angry about it any more, though. God helped me with that.

If the “lady” I emailed comes back with any useful information, I may blog it. This whole business is very interesting to me.

For the Love of God

My Changing Perspective on Online Dating

The online dating wars continue!

This morning, I had a weird experience. I have a tendency to wake up while it’s dark, so I consider it an opportunity to pray. I suspect it’s God’s way of telling me I didn’t pray enough during the day. I woke up early this morning, and I spent a lot of time communicating with God.

While I was doing this, I looked at my phone, as I so often do. It’s hard not to check the Christian Mingle site when I look at my phone. There is something addictive about fielding inquiries from people you know are African scammers. Talking to scammers has become a diversion in and of itself, and there is also that unquenchable desire to see if a real person has responded to you. I don’t mean a potential mate. I just want to know I talked to someone who wasn’t a criminal.

I had two new contacts, not counting the usual obvious scammers. Both were in their thirties, which seemed odd. One was in Alaska, where there are supposedly several men to every woman, and the other was in Illinois.

I could not resist “liking” their profiles.

The Alaska lady had a long, serious description. She wants to build a life with someone instead of inheriting. Not sure what that’s all about. She won’t talk to leftists. I thought that was great. She just laid it out there. No apologies. She’s into things like farming and snowmobiling. If you move to Alaska, you have to call them “snow machines,” but I’m in Florida, so “snowmobiling.”

The Illinois lady is black, and she’s an RN. She wasn’t Halle Berry, but her main profile photo seemed to radiate warmth. Very strange.

I responded to both of them and resumed prayer.

While I was praying, I started to feel strong love for the lady in Illinois. I didn’t know what to make of it. I don’t know this lady. There is no reason why I should have feelings for her. After a while, it occurred to me: I was feeling the love of the Holy Spirit.

God can do that. In fact, I think it’s something he wants to do for us all the time, every day, because our own love is inadequate and very conditional, and we tend to direct it to the wrong people. I have felt God’s love going through me before. I really like it. I don’t want to be crabby all the time. I want to be free from scars.

I started thinking about my attitude toward online dating. I felt I needed God’s help in feeling love for all the people who contacted me. I haven’t been nasty to people, but warmth generally hasn’t been a big part of the picture. It’s all pretty businesslike, and I have also taken some pleasure from gently needling scammers.

Yesterday, a Canadian lady “liked” my profile and sent a message. I looked at her profile. It was bizarre.

Proudly, she announced that you don’t have to be conservative to be a real Christian. That’s factually wrong, but okay. She called herself a liberal and a big LGBTQRSTUV&#($#^LOL ally. I figured her account was being used by an African. I thanked her. I told her I had voted for Trump twice and that I had just come from practicing precision shooting, with an AR-15, in my yard. I said either her account had been hacked or she was having a bad reaction to magic mushrooms.

If she was an African, it wouldn’t faze her. If she was a real liberal, and she had a sense of humor, she would be amused and move on. Haven’t heard back from her, which is good, I suppose.

It shows that I wasn’t investing a lot of emotion in what I was doing, and that’s typical of my Christian Mingle mindset.

I feel like I should be conscious of the need to have God’s love run through me when I deal with people from now on. Whether my flesh will permit it is another question.

I had been feeling bummed out about online dating. I was up to my ears in scammers, and people with whom I initiated contact never responded. I started thinking about reality: maybe I was just that unappealing. Not everyone is attractive.

I’ve received a few contacts that seemed legitimate from the start, and generally, I took one look and said, “There is just no way. I can’t do it.” One lady was nearly 80. Another had no hands and feet. Some profiles say things like, “As you can see,I’m a big lady.”

There is only so much weight I am willing to carry. Yesterday, I realized a lot of people were probably doing the same thing when they saw me. I’m pretty sure one lady I contacted went so far as to block me.

I should lower my standards, right? Well, no. Living and dying alone is a lot better than being trapped with a woman who knows perfectly well that you consider physical affection an unpleasant and humiliating chore. No woman wants to be a charity case. Being affectionate with your wife shouldn’t be like giving a sponge bath to a burn victim. I don’t want to wake up every morning and see a reminder that my romantic life was successfully and permanently cursed. Okay, an empty space would also remind me of that, but I wouldn’t have to kiss it or take it to an expensive restaurant on Valentine’s Day, and it wouldn’t resent me.

I had felt somewhat discouraged, but after I felt God’s love going through me, I felt much better. It somehow made it easier not to take anything personally.

I don’t have positive expectations, and I think I’ll probably delete my account at the end of the month, but I do have a better outlook.

I think the lady in Illinois is a scammer, and I suspect the one in Alaska might be a white separatist who has an AR-15 much nicer than mine, for a different reason.

That’s fine. How people treat me and whether my love life works out are less important than what happens inside me and how I treat others.

For anyone who keeps score, I have received 16 messages from scammers in the last hour.

Life in the Centrifuge

January 25th, 2021

It’s a Tiktok World

Last year or thereabouts, I joined a gun forum which was pretty far to the right, even for gun forums. I had been banned at a popular site called The High Road for pointing out that magazine writer and former semi-pro small-town cop Massad Ayoob wasn’t competent to give people legal advice. He endangers people with his nonsense. I found a forum that was full of Christians who were more like me.

The other day, I saw people complaining about Biden. There was a certain amount of saber-rattling. Internet soldiers love to talk about how they’re going to strap on their rusty 1911’s and take America back. I chimed in, asserting that America was all washed up, that it is now, legitimately, a leftist nation, and that I had no intention of going out on amateur patrols. Of course, some character from Texas (the most overrated conservative state in existence) insinuated that I was a coward and traitor, and some other person said I was giving in.

I asked the second person what he was doing that I wasn’t. I asked if he was building bombs or joining a guerrilla army. My plan is to obey the law, give up on America because it doesn’t want my help, and identify with the nation of Christ. He didn’t have any answers.

The whole experience made me think about popularity.

I’ve found that the closer I get to God, the more people reject me. When I first started going back to church, fake friends who weren’t interested in God rejected me. When I realized my church was crooked and wrong about doctrine, I spoke up, and the church rejected me. I went to another church which was better in many ways, but it still had problems, and it rejected me, too. After that, whenever I tried a new church, I found myself surrounded by people who were mired in my past. They were holding onto ideas from which I had already been rescued.

The interesting thing about the pattern is that the closer I get to God, the closer to God are the people who reject me. This morning while I was in prayer, I connected this to the rapture, and I think God was speaking to me.

Everyone thinks the rapture will be a sudden event which will blindside us completely and take all sorts of lukewarm Christians who haven’t done any preparation. That doesn’t make any sense.

God shows himself through patterns. Think about people he delivered in the past.

God took Enoch. The Bible says Enoch was already close to God, and Jewish legend says that when he was taken, he had not yet sinned. Enoch was ready.

God delivered Noah. Before the flood, Noah had over a hundred years to work on the ark, and during that time, he was already set aside to God. He failed to reach his contemporaries.

God took Abraham out of Ur, which was a heathen city where they worshiped evil spirits. He didn’t just grab him by the arm and yank him into Israel. Abraham got to know God in Ur, and after that, God told him to leave.

God took Lot out of Sodom. The Bible says Lot was a righteous man and that he was vexed by what he saw around him in Sodom. Lot was prepared when he escaped. In his heart, he had already left.

Elijah was translated to heaven, and he was rejected by his people and his king.

God isn’t going to take Christians who are down here trying to fit in. They have already chosen mankind over him.

If this is true, then it’s a very good sign when a person who sincerely seeks God is rejected by more and more people. Jesus said things which are consistent with this idea. He said, “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” He also said this:

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

It’s funny, but I’ve been rejected by a lot of people, and it has very rarely been because I did or said something wrong. I get rejected when I’m right.

Jesus was the most righteous person who ever lived, and look who rejected him. His king, the highest local representative of his emperor, and the high priests of Judaism. The Romans killed him, but the top tier of Jews beat him, spat on him, and forced the Romans to put him on the cross. The Romans would never have touched him had the Jews not insisted, and Pontius Pilate strove to release him.

It’s interesting. Jesus was at the top of our hierarchy, and his enemies were at the tops of theirs. This even applies to spirits. You and I have demons. Jesus had Satan.

Your unbelieving friends reject you, and preachers take you in and say, “Well done. Now you can be with us and learn the truth.” Then they obstruct you and lie to you, and when you speak up, they label you a divider and drive you out, and most of your Christian friends agree with them. You may go from bad preachers to better preachers, moving up the food chain as God improves you, but the end is always the same. Rejection.

If the progression never stops, don’t you have to end up with Jesus himself? Who is higher? When there is no one left on earth who is closer to God than you are, surely you find yourself with Jesus himself and with such few Christians as are on the same page.

It seems to me that the rapture must work this way.

People who heal the sick and deliver a lot of good teaching are saying things that seem to be insane. I don’t know everything, and I may be wrong, but it looks like they’re repeating disinformation from hell. “Trump is coming back!” “Trump is guaranteed a second term!” “The military coup is going to explode when you least expect it!”

This is all supposed to happen in a country that has very clearly rejected Jesus Christ. Why would God do things like that?

I think they’re wrong. I think Satan is using false prophets to discredit prophecy, Christianity, and God. I can’t say God has assured me of this, but I think I’m correct. If that’s true, then I am being set apart once again, from a new level of Christian bigwigs.

That would be neat, because it would suggest I have some hope of getting out of this place before too long.

Biden is increasing the tyranny already. He’s extending mask orders. That’s amazing. Before coronavirus, the CDC clearly said masks don’t do anything to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses. They also told us we would only have lockdowns and masks temporarily, to slow the infection rate and help the medical establishment cope. It has been almost a year, the medical establishment is not even close to saturation, masks and lockdowns have proven useless, and the draconian restrictions are increasing, not decreasing.

They want to inject us with an mRNA vaccine. The CDC says this thing convinces our cells to make a coronavirus protein temporarily, and then our cells go back to normal. Protein synthesis occurs in the cytoplasm, not the nucleus, so they claim our DNA will not be affected.

As far as I can tell, this is the very first time we have used an mRNA vaccine to fight an infectious disease, and we are taking this major step to fight a minor illness which has not significantly impacted the overall death rate even among especially vulnerable groups.

Do you trust the vaccine? I don’t want it. I’ve had lots of vaccines, but something about this one is off. If it were a conventional vaccine, I would have no problem with it, but I don’t want scientists taking over my body. I don’t have confidence in their claims. These are the people who tell us weed isn’t addictive. In fact, they have told us many of the most damaging recreational drugs were not addictive. They sold us thalidomide. They tell us castrating confused boys is therapeutic.

I plan to wait for a conventional vaccine. I don’t know if they’ll ever offer one, though.

Even if things go well, people who get vaccinated will still get sick, and many will die. That’s how vaccines work. They don’t protect every person.

Curses and blessings are encoded in our genetic material. If you’re tall and handsome, thank your DNA. If you’re stupid, thank your DNA. If you have Huntington’s Chorea or hereditary cancer, thank your DNA. What I wonder is this: can science impart curses to us by meddling with our genetic material?

God has said the decendants of various men are either blessed or cursed in various ways. What separates these people from others? Genetic material alone. The Jews have genes that make them smart and talented. The Arabs still behave as Isaac’s blessing said they would. Smart people have smart kids. Dumb people have dumb kids. Homosexuality runs in families. So do addictions and criminal tendencies. What if a vaccine that modifies my DNA joins me with people who are cursed, and I become like them?

I’m willing to wait. Or die. I’m just visiting Earth anyway, and I have no pressing business here that I’m aware of. I’m not anxious to become weak and demented, so it’s not like old age offers anything I want to experience. I don’t want to spend two decades in the new Cuba, treated like a criminal every day. I don’t want to lose my house, my wealth, my firearms, or any more of my liberty. My freedom of speech has already been very seriously compromised by Big Tech, and I’m not eager to see them come for what’s left of it.

What are you supposed to do in a socialist worker’s paradise when you’re old, white, male, conservative, and Christian and therefore an enemy of the state? Nibble Soylent green every day in your shared punitive quarters and wait for death?

I see more talk now about coronavirus mutations. That’s wonderful. It’s like extending a patent. If you patent something, you get a couple of decades of protection. After that, if you want to maintain your edge, you have to make some patentable change or get special treatment. If coronavirus keeps changing in ways that are sufficiently significant, it can keep us in cages forever. What if it mutates so the vaccines don’t work? What if it becomes really deadly?

Some scientists think there was a time when a type of syphilis was spread through sneezing and sharing food and drink. Yow! What if coronavirus becomes a lot more infectious? What if the pale horseman of the Revelation is already here, and he has other plagues ready to drop on us? The Beast must have some amazing tactics ready for use when God permits it.

Democrats are using fear and the belief that there is no afterlife to force us into the sick secular family they have always envisioned. They want to force us into a type of spiritual and technological intimacy and fornication with stupid, crass strangers who are spiritually diseased. It’s not a great time to be born.

People who are past 40 don’t understand the young now. A lot of us think we’re up to speed because we send emails and take selfies. The kids are on another level. They can’t put three sentences together, but they can take cell phones and turn themselves into bizarre virtual beings with completely new faces and weird animated accessories like hearts and puppy noses. They create idealized images of themselves, bringing us closer and close to the day when our actual meat bodies won’t be needed. Sooner or later, the meat will be kept alive in remote locations while the images live our lives. Many movies have been made about it because it’s so obvious that it will happen.

Anyone who objects to the avatar paradigm will be left behind as humanity moves to a model completely dependent on electronic connectivity. Eventually, our identities will merge. That’s what the Beast is. A merging of the identities of people who love this world and hate God.

These things aren’t impossible. It’s not crazy talk. It’s already happening, and the technology is well within reach. The gaming world will become reality, and reality–your actual body–will just be one small part of your totality. It will be like a Mr. Potatohead shell, relying on technological accessories for its identity.

So, yes. I am ready to go somewhere else.

Imagine a world where there are no computers. Imagine not needing technology of any kind. Imagine a world where privacy doesn’t exist, not because the government took it away from you, but because everyone is so good, there is nothing to hide. Imagine a world where there are no elections because the government is perfect.

I don’t know what to do yet, but I’m starting to get ideas about what not to do. I’m also feeling much better about being an outsider.

Biden my Time

January 24th, 2021

Where is That Rescue Chopper?

Time for an update on my adjustment to the disastrous election, plus some surprising news about my experiences on Christian Mingle.

I feel much better about life now that I’ve adjusted to the fact that America is lost. It’s like that moment when it finally gets through to you that your friend will always be a crack whore. There is grief, but there is also relief because you just put down an unreasonable burden you could not carry. America has been a godless leftist nation for a long time. It was only by God’s grace that any conservative, God-friendly presidents were elected, and God’s grace only persists while there is profit in it. Fighting for America to turn itself around is like hogtying your crack whore friend and forcing her to watch Christian TV. It won’t work, and while you’re doing it, you could be helping someone who will listen, with much less heartache and aggravation.

Today God gave me a revelation. When you’re in a foreign country doing mission work, and the government is crazy, you don’t let it destroy your joy. You’re not there to fix the government, and you know most people will pay no attention to you. You’re just there for the nation within a nation; the children of God. America is more or less like Venezuela now, and Somalia is on the way. The government will not right itself, and it has popular support which is not going to go away. That’s fine. I’m a dual citizen, and my primary nation is the body of Christ.

I will not pray for this place. I will not demonstrate. If my part of the country secedes, and it looks like it’s a good idea to provide some support, I might–might–consider supporting THAT country more strongly, but my plan right now is to pay taxes, obey the law, and wave from the dock as America sinks.

I’ll try to be more unified with my primary nation and its invincible commander in chief. For dense people, I am referring to the body of Christ and God. I will not be joining a politics-driven guerrilla army unless the choice is being killed in my house, and probably not even then.

As for Christian Mingle, a really funny thing happened. On my first day, during the first couple of hours, I didn’t know 95% of the women who tried to initiate contact were African scammers. Crazy me; I expected most members to be genuine. One person pestered me for my phone number, and I gave her a tech-giant email address I don’t care about.

She bugged me about prayer in tongues, and she cited some Bible verses that were important to her. I say “she,” but it could be a man for all I know. I told her a few things I thought would help her, and she called me “teacher” and seemed very grateful. Then her account vanished, and I figured that had to mean she was a scammer. I marveled that a scammer could be so sophisticated. She kept telling me she was a normal Christian Mingle member, but I actually told her she acted like a sophisticated scammer. She disappeared.

After that, I came to understand that a huge number of the fake women who were chasing me were in Africa. I got one to admit she was a hairdresser in Ghana. I started responding to “smile” messages with this: “Nigerian? Ghanaian? Ivorian?” One lady responded with this: “Lol. Togo.”

Out of curiosity, I sent the first lady an email. It said, “West Africa, right?” She responded and admitted it. She apologized and said she wished she could have told me at the start. I let it go.

Later on, I could not stop thinking about the things she said about her faith. What if this was a real woman who wanted to get closer to God, and I was cutting her off just because she was a criminal? I felt like an idiot, but I sent an email saying I didn’t know if she was really a Christian, but that if she was, she really needed to pray in tongues. She responded and said she was a Christian who spoke in tongues and that she would not lie about that. I said it was nice if something good had come out of the whole thing. And that was that.

So I went to this ridiculous site, thinking there was a 2% chance I might find someone, expecting to sift through Americans, and what happened? I ended up ministering to a foreign criminal in Africa.

It almost seems like God is having a joke, but I don’t think he does that.

I am still being swamped with phony inquiries, a woman who is 10 years older than I am “smiled” at me, and another who is pushing 80 liked my profile. Who do they think I am? Ashton Kutcher? I think it would be more productive to drive to Orlando and walk around malls wearing a T-shirt saying, “Date me.”

I just got a new message and photos from a “lady” who claims to be Catholic. I responded before the photos arrived, declining and saying I was not Catholic. In one of the photos, she is wearing a very short see-through nightie, and her enormous breasts and her thong are clearly visible. I laughed so hard, the birds must think I’m having a conniption.

I hope “Cheryl” in Africa puts my advice to use. That’s worth a lot even if Christian Mingle is a total washout otherwise.

I Need a Modified Delorean

January 23rd, 2021

No Profit in Prophets

The misinformation tsunami is getting pretty deep.

A Youtuber I like put up a video about how God is mad at Christians who don’t believe the prophecies about Trump winning the election. You know…the election was in November, the electors met in December, Biden was inaugurated in January, the courts ruled against Trump, Trump can no longer communicate with the American people, and–call me a pessimist–it sort of looks like a done deal.

People can backpedal if they want. They can say, “I meant a second term that will come later.” That’s not what they predicted. Sorry. The best Trump can hope for, barring a miracle the likes of which the world hasn’t seen in centuries, is that Trump will be resurrected as president of part of America after the cold civil war turns hot.

The Youtuber I watch linked to a video by a lady named Kat Kerr. I clicked.

I know. I have no one to blame but myself.

I saw an elderly lady with bright pink hair, wearing a shawl. She said a few words in a normal voice, and then she started bellowing that God was going to do this and that. Judging by her tone, the idea was that God was really sore at me.

Would God be angry at me for doubting prophecies that had already been proven wrong? God isn’t going to punish anyone for that. If the Biblical prophets had blown it repeatedly, God wouldn’t have expected people to believe them.

Kat Kerr promotes herself as a prophet. Doesn’t the Bible say something about what happens to people who promote themselves? Something negative. And the pink hair…not a great sign.

Unlike 99% of the people who watched the video, I checked her record. In 2018, she said God would turn the map red, meaning Republicans would sweep everything.

Remember how that didn’t happen?

She also predicted Trump would win last year in a landslide. Afterward, she responded to critics by redefining “landslide.” Something about how misdeeds would be uncovered. Sort of like ruins in a desert after an earthquake, I would guess.

That hasn’t happened.

There was also a link to a video by an African lady. She said God’s will would be done in America. He wouldn’t allow things that were not his will to happen. I had the audacity to comment. I asked why we had been allowed to kill 60,000,000 babies.

Everyone else was lapping it up, however.

God’s plan is for men, not women, to lead the church. Whenever he chooses a woman, it has to be because a man refused. Feminism came from hell. God is male. Jesus is male. The prophets were male. Adam, Enoch, Moses, Joshua, David, and all the kings of Judah and Israel were male. The disciples were male. All of the books of the Bible were written by men. The human beings who are subordinate to God, on the other hand, are the bride of Christ.

Am I the only one sensing a subtle pattern?

Women desire attention considerably more than men do. They will do strange things in order to get it. I don’t intend to get sucked into following unfulfilled women who are not content with their place in the plan and who crave eyeballs and ears.

God will only permit conservative leadership? Okay. Some things need to be explained, then. Here are a few: FDR, Jimmy Carter, LBJ, Bill Clinton, two Obama election victories, and Joe Biden. I’m only looking at the presidency. It gets worse when you look at other offices. Let’s not even discuss Christian nations that have already fallen. You have to be addled to think God won’t allow leftists to rule. Have you heard of Russia? Do you know what happened in 1917?

Trump is over. America is over. You need to stop trusting the wrong things. Bad times are here, right now, and you need to join the flock and get God’s help. Israel is the only nation that will survive forever, and it includes those of us who are grafted in.

I have to wonder what the red-cap prophets will be saying 6 months from now, while Trump is still out of office and still unable to communicate with us. What will they say when America turns into Cuba? Will they say it’s just a test? Will they tell us Trump is still coming? What if Trump dies? Will they tell us he’s going to be resurrected?

Our Cuban-style future is beginning. There will be “land reform.” If you have a nice house on a big lot, it will be given to someone with the right color skin. There will be correction of financial “inequity.” Wealth, not just income, will be taken away and given to people who are too irresponsible to be trusted even with food stamps. You’ll lose the right to vote. Disarmament is a given. Secession is on the table. How will the red-cap prophets redefine this as victory?

It reminds me of the way people will say a person who died from cancer was healed. “He doesn’t have cancer now.” If that’s healing, why didn’t Jesus run sick people through with a sword?

You don’t really have to pray for a sick person in order for him to die, and God doesn’t have to intervene. It happens all by itself. You can’t say God really glorified himself by doing nothing and letting Satan win.

I can’t swear that God won’t do something really strange and bring Trump back, but a miracle like that would be about like the second coming or the flood, and the world hasn’t seen a miracle like that in millennia. It’s a lot to ask, and at least most of the people predicting it have already proven unreliable.

It should be a fantastic thing for the church if a bunch of fake prophets were exposed, but I don’t think it will help, because people will still think they’re the real thing.

I don’t prophesy about America’s future, but I make guesses based in reality. I have some common sense, I know how human nature works (all too sadly), I have observed history, and I am familiar with obvious Biblical patterns. I’ll put all that up against pink hair and bad track records any day.

I guess I’ll give a Christian Mingle update. I think I MAY have communicated with one real person. I’m not sure. I make her mad, she doesn’t have a sense of humor, and she has nothing interesting to say, so it doesn’t help. She could be a real person who just isn’t exciting, and whose reasons for being single involve her personality, but she is probably a scammer who is angry at me for smoking her out and who happens to speak good English. Also, the woman in her photos is beautiful, and that’s usually a clue that you’re talking to a man in China.

I received a few “smiles” from three or four women who are probably real because they are very unattractive. There is just no way, no way, no way, no way. I’m sure women who come across my profile frequently have the same feeling. I’m not going to say something stupid and childish like, “their loss.” It’s not their loss. They’re sticking to their standards. Good for them. Starting up with a man you don’t want is a loss. Being single is nowhere near as bad as being with the wrong person.

Here’s a horrible question: who is generally more motivated? People who want to marry, or people who want to divorce?

I’ve received maybe 30 new “smiles” from accounts that are clearly fake.

For the heck of it, I responded to one today. She sent a photo of a young black woman in clingy booty shorts, followed by a shot of the same young woman in a satin bikini that covered very little, and it showed her enormous breast implants. She’s supposed to be 50, by the way. I guess she’s trying on outfits for church.

I don’t see myself renewing my membership. It’s unpleasant, seeing how badly the system works. I am fatigued by the constant and frequent assaults from people trying to do me harm. They don’t get anywhere, but it’s still tiresome. Christian Mingle should screen members, but they don’t, probably because they prefer to receive the money and let legitimate members suffer. It would be very easy to demand identification and insist that people put up photos before they contact anyone.

I changed my locality to Tennessee for a while, and it seemed like I got a little improvement, but not much.

I kind of enjoy asking scammers questions. One was supposedly from Texas, so I asked if she preferred Aggies or Longhorns. It took her quite a while to finish Googling and announce her loyalty to “the texas longhorns.” That’s not what people say in Texas. They say “‘Horns.”

To sum up, Trump isn’t coming back, I think the people who prophesied conservative nirvana are wrong, and Christian Mingle appears to be really bad, except for scammers.

MORE

I just got a scammer to admit he or she is in Nigeria. What a blast from the past.

Oops. I’m wrong. It’s Ghana.

USA…USA…USA…

January 22nd, 2021

United States of Antichrist

I believe I will follow up on yesterday’s topics.

First, my crazy experiences on Christian Mingle. Yesterday, I complained about receiving dozens of messages from scammers who are almost surely male and located in foreign countries. They usually send messages from new accounts with no photos and computer-generated names. Today when I checked, I had nearly 30 of these messages waiting. I also had a couple from accounts that had names but no photos. These will also turn out to be scammers.

Nothing has changed, except that last night, Christian Mingle tried to match me with a sodomite. I want to be flexible, but come on.

Can you believe a Christian dating site pairs up homosexuals? What planet did I wake up on today? And they apparently let pervert predators go after heterosexual men. If I turn down women because they’re too homely, what chance does a man have?

One of the disturbing things about homosexuals is that they want normal men. Talk about not getting the message.

It occurred to me that my location might be drawing scammers. If criminals think you live in Florida, they will swarm to you like flies to poop. I may change my location to another state for a few days just to check my theory.

Right now, I’m messaging a person who claims to be a 29-year-old computer scientist from New York City. You saw that age correctly. “She” has a real account. I’ll tell you what probably happened. She had a simple password, and someone figured it out, or someone sent her a link to a site where she stupidly filled her password in, and now her account belongs to a Nigerian.

She says she went to NYU, so just for fun, I asked her which pizzeria in the NYU area was her favorite. I think the question fried her limited-response circuitry. I don’t expect an answer.

I got a message from a Texas account featuring a beautiful photo. She asked how I was doing. I said I was doing fine, except that I was trying not to think about “the Biden thing.” Her response: “Well i had a busy day with this Biden of a thing too.”

I’m guessing Chinese here. There is a certain way Chinese people who speak bad English put sentences together.

She reminds me of the guy in Gran Torino, when he tried to sound like an American.

She sent me another message in the middle of the night. Okay…isn’t that a good clue that you’re on the other side of the world?

I’m talking to another lady who claims to be from Central Florida. This one could conceivably be a real woman. She’s angry with me already, so that’s a clue that she’s a woman. I see no future in her. I am only messaging to find out if she’s real.

I just changed my location to Tennessee. Let’s see if the scammers go away.

Things don’t look good at all. That’s life.

As for “this Biden of a thing,” I got a wonderful revelation yesterday and last night. It may not sound very nice, but here it is: I’m all done with America. We chose the Antichrist, it’s very clear that this country is finished, and there is no purpose in praying for it. That huge weight is gone.

I don’t have to get involved in politics. I don’t have to think about possible pressure from people who want me to take up arms in the future. Not my circus, not my monkeys. Let the carnal people have at it.

A few days back, I got a strange phrase from God while I was praying: “You are joining the flock.” I thought it just meant I was getting closer to God, but it seems to be connected with yesterday’s revelation. I think you can’t have your heart bound up in politics and patriotism and still belong to God.

If I’m detaching from America, what nation do I belong to? Obviously, the nation, or family, of God. I’m through praying for God to do this or that for America, because America wants to go to hell, and it’s going to get what it asked for. Instead, I’ll pray for God’s children.

The Bible makes it clear that most people are not God’s children. We love to say they are, on T-shirts and greeting cards, but the Bible says they are not. It also says God’s children are those people who are Spirit-led.

Things have gone great for me during America’s rapid approach to the tribulation. I’m not poor, I am free from jerks and users, I’m not a slave to crooked preachers, my health is good, and I live in a nice area. Most Americans live in an unpleasant and deteriorating reality, but I live in a much nicer reality. Surely God’s other children either have the same things or can get them if they know what to do. I’ll pray for them instead of sending up hopeless prayers for the boneheads.

I expect to be distanced from stubborn people I know and care about. Nothing new there, except that in the past, the people who pushed me away were a lot farther from God.

As you get closer to God, you will find that the people who reject you are closer to God than the ones who rejected you in the past. It’s like you’re going from the outer court to the inner court to the holy of holies.

For a long time, I’ve told people a big part of Christianity is letting others go. Christians are poisoned by the idea that you should never give up on someone, even while worshiping a God who gave up on the world once, gave up on the Hebrews under Moses, and will give up on the world a second time. You have to let boneheads go, unless you want to spend your whole life playing their bonehead games. If you choose to hold on when God tells you to let go, the problems they cause you are your fault.

Hell is for boneheads. Tail-chasing is for boneheads. Shared unnecessary drama is for boneheads. I care more about living in God’s reality than I do about holding onto people who don’t listen.

The whole concept is fascinating. If you read the Bible with clear eyes, you see that many, many people have been abandoned for good reason. It’s part of our way of life. When people refuse to go forward, you eventually have to keep going and let them die in the desert. There’s nothing you can do for them, but if you stay with them, they can harm you badly.

It’s funny how I’ve misunderstood Bible verses. Remember these? “A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.” They sound wonderful at first, don’t they? Protection always sounds good. It seems like these verses are nothing but blessings, but they’re also curses. They’re like the curse of childbirth pain. In order for something very good to happen, there has to be great suffering. You’ll be protected, but many others will be stricken down around you, and you’ll have to watch!

Noah had to listen to his screaming friends tearing their fingernails out on the hull of the ark.

I feel a lot better today. I don’t think it will bother me much to take my Trump hat and shirt to the dump. Biden’s carnal antics won’t disturb me as much as they did yesterday. He’s functioning on a very low plane, as always. No real power there.

I hope my changed outlook will soften the pain when I have to watch America turn into Venezuela. I’m glad I’m not still clinging to false hope.

America Inaugurates Gilligan

January 21st, 2021

I have a Train to Catch

I have had a lot of interesting thoughts about America over the last day, and I think I should share them. I think a good deal of it is divine revelation. Things came to me suddenly.

First thing: America belongs to the Antichrist. Satan won the election, fair and square. You may say the Democrats cheated. Doesn’t matter. The electoral count is a big deal on earth, but in heaven, the votes we cast in our hearts count. Biden had the popular vote, legitimately, just as Hillary did. We wanted him, and now we have him. America’s time as a Christian nation is over, permanently, and there is nowhere left to run. This was the place where persecuted Christians fled. There is no nation left to fill that role.

What else? Here’s something: Trump is never coming back. In fact, he will disappear, except for being mentioned in news stories as the Democrats try to imprison him and so on.

Trump has been strangled, and we are next. Remember how the New Testament forbids us to eat things that are strangled? We’re not allowed to eat things with the blood still in them, even though many Christians eat things like blood pudding anyway. God does not like strangulation. When the tech giants took Trump’s voice away, they strangled him. They sacrificed him to the Antichrist.

At least Jesus could speak during the crucifixion.

Trump is no longer capable of communicating with the public, so he’s finished. He can’t tweet. He can’t put up a Youtube video. He can’t use Facebook. The networks will not put him on the air. He’s done. Period.

You can’t have a political comeback unless you can speak.

Why is no one talking about this? They seem to think it’s just like it was in 2015. No. In 2015, Trump could talk and type.

If you’re hoping for Trump to return, here’s your slap in the face: it will never happen. Not unless he is somehow reinstalled as the president of part of America during the upcoming civil war.

Trump isn’t coming back. America isn’t coming back. Our rights will disappear rapidly. If you didn’t listen to the sirens, and you’re in a big city or suburb, you’re going to suffer. You thought you knew everything. Well, you didn’t.

It has started with government overreaching and riots, and it will end in rape, home invasion, arson, and a wave of murders. You may see your wife and daughters raped. For that matter, you may see your sons raped. It’s something the Antichrist’s people like doing to white males.

Here’s something else: the riots are back. Like Israel, America decided to appease terrorists. We saw the burning cities, and many of us voted for Biden because we thought it would pacify them. On inauguration day, the rioters started up again. Antifa is rioting in Seattle and Portland, and they’re against Biden now.

People thought the rioters would settle if we threw them a bone. This is exactly how Jews think, politically. Go along with your enemies. Make a few concessions. It hasn’t worked in Israel, and it didn’t work here. Appeasement only works when your enemy wants peace. Muslims don’t want peace. They want to expel all Jews from Israel, and they want to see an end to the Jewish race. Antifa and BLM never said they would stand down if Joe Biden were elected. They want everything. They want revolution.

I believe the red horseman of the Apocalypse is playing his entrance music. He represents murder. The Bible says he will go out and cause people to kill each other. If spirits are driving the violence, only a spirit can stop it. We are not submitting to the Holy Spirit, however, so the violence should continue and ramp up.

Trump isn’t the only one who will be strangled. Twitter has already announced a censorship initiative, and they will be going after other accounts. AOC says the government should establish a “truth commission,” and instead of being censured and impeached, she is prospering in her career. It shows that Americans are open to the idea. If it were 1970, the nation would have reacted in horror, but we’ve changed. You’re going to be strangled sooner or later, so get ready for it.

The strangulation campaign is interesting, because it nullifies truth.

Jesus is the truth. He said so. By that, he meant he comes in through the front door, not through a window. He approaches you and tells you exactly what he is and what to expect. Satan doesn’t do that. He lies to you. He’s like a drug dealer who gives you your first dose of crack for nothing.

In order for Jesus to enter your life, you have to hear his truth. That will become impossible on the Internet and in the media. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. You can’t get the way or the life until you hear the truth.

By shutting down free speech, the Democrats will set up a stronghold intended to make the spread of the gospel impossible. This is why God is giving up on churches. The real gospel will have to be spread elsewhere.

I think the most nauseating thing about all this is that the people behind it claim to stand for the truth. AOC used the term “truth commission” in her effort to stifle the truth and let lies thrive.

The other day, I texted a friend, and during the conversation, I said, “The truth is getting lost.” I think that came from God. It’s so true. People who can’t hear the Holy Spirit–including many Spirit-baptized Christians–are starting to spew crazy rumors that have no foundation. Irrationality, which is a symptom of spirit involvement, is spreading like a grass fire. There is no one to turn to for truthful information. The press is hopeless. The CDC and WHO can’t figure out what the truth about coronavirus is, and if they did, they would tell us something different, intended to foster authoritarianism. No one will tell us the truth about climate change, even though drawing scientific conclusions about it is easy. Preachers teach garbage that prevents people from knowing God.

How can the world continue without an opening for the truth?

We’ve entered a time in which the only people who know the truth are Christians who pray in tongues a lot. They know riots and guns won’t fix America. They know elections won’t help. They know America is Satan’s country now, and they are letting God set them apart from society so they’ll be ready for the end.

I feel like nothing I do matters now. I shouldn’t start big new projects. I shouldn’t think at all about plans for the future, because there is no future in the traditional sense. I joined Christian Mingle, but I think all hope for marriage is probably lost. I feel as if everyone’s works are pretty much done, and we are just waiting for the judge.

Look at Revelation 22, which seems to agree:

Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

You take the water of life by praying in tongues.

I’m glad God put me on high ground three years ago. I’m glad I will never see the entitled hordes come over my fence and through my front door. I do wish I had done more for God.

I am just fooling around now, enjoying my hobbies and not being listened to. I don’t have a single person with whom I can have a real conversation about God. Talking to most people about God is like trying to talk into a leaf blower. They don’t pray, they lack your experience, but they know more than you do.

I believe I should throw out my MAGA hat and Trump shirt. They no longer serve any purpose.

I’ve decided to rent The Omega Man. I’ve never seen it all the way through. Guess I’ll have to cover my eyes during certain scenes. I feel a strong kinship with the lead character today.

How to Die Poor

January 20th, 2021

L-O-L-A Lolaaaaaa…

Two very bad things have happened to me today. First, we inaugurated Joe Biden. My standing comment on this is that we went to the rodeo and bet on the clown. Second, and I know I am making myself look like an idiot when I say this, I gave in to pressure and talked to some women on Christianmingle.com.

Go ahead. Let me have it.

I have learned some fascinating things about this site.

The primary thing that surprised me is that virtually everyone who contacts you will be either incredibly, incurably undesirable, in ways that will make you wish you had never heard of sex, or they will be male scammers from foreign countries.

I have probably messaged back and forth with 35 people today. I say “people” because I very much doubt any of them were female. As far as I know, not a single one is real.

When you first start using the site, you will be forced to use a name that starts with “Mingler,” like “Mingler_3j42.” It takes a day or two for your chosen name to show up. During this time, you may start receiving barrages of “smiles” from people whose names also start with “Mingler.” It’s foreign scammers whose accounts are new because they just opened them in order to steal from you.

These accounts usually won’t have photos, because it takes a while for the site to approve them. The scammers will get around this by helpfully sending pictures like the one below.

I removed the top of her head because this is presumably an innocent woman whose picture was stolen, and she probably doesn’t want her face on my site. I keep receiving photos from women who are way too pretty to be so interested in me.

To help the ladies, I will let you know that this person is a solid 8 out of 10. This picture is excellent man bait.

Here’s something else. They will badger you to go to Google Hangouts. I thought Google Hangouts had been abandoned and removed from the Internet, but, sadly, that is not the case. Scammers want you to go there and chat with them, and I suppose they have a good scammy reason. Maybe it makes it easier to obstruct law enforcement.

When you pressure me to go to Google Hangouts, you are pressuring the wrong guy. I hate Google Hangouts, along with all other forms of social media except Youtube (which I hate a little). One of the reasons I hacked my phone was to be able to delete Google Hangouts.

They also beg for your phone number over and over, and, if they can’t get that, your email address.

They use bad grammar, which makes China look likely.

Right now, I am talking to one. I got a smile from a random Mingler, and here is how things are going:

Mingler_a93e: She sent you a smile!

Me: Hi. I will never, ever go to Google Hangouts, and I don’t give people my phone number.

Mingler_a93e: [suggestive, unchristian photo] Come on text me through hangouts florencenorvo@gmail.com

Me: What’s your name? Achmed? Dmitri? Feng Shui? I know scammers generally come from backward foreign countries where the US dumps nuclear waste

He’s stuck now. Doesn’t know what to say.

Wow! It says “Removed User.” I guess I rocked his world. His boss in the Internet cafe in Pakistan is probably beating him with his shoe.

I ran into one really good one. He started asking me about prayer in tongues and Bible verses. I thought he was for real. I gave him my email address. He actually mentioned some verses, himself. That’s pretty sophisticated. Most non-Christians can’t pull that off. Then he started calling me his teacher and canceled his account, saying he no longer needed to talk to other men.

It makes me think of Zaphod Beeblebrox.

In case you don’t know, in the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Zaphod Beeblebrox was the President of the Galaxy. He had an enormous ego. Odd, for a politician. He was an utter moron, but he thought he was wonderful. At one point in the book, he was put in a machine that showed people exactly how insignificant they were, and people assumed he would die from the humiliation.

Am I in that machine today?

I have heard from dozens of “women” today, and I’m pretty sure every single one whose picture wasn’t like running my toe into furniture was actually a man in a foreign country.

It would be great of scores of beautiful women in their thirties were really after me, but this is Florida, not Fantasy Island.

I just hooked another one. I gave him the Google Hangouts pitch, and he still asked me to go there. I said, “I think you’re a dude in Pakistan or India.” Now he seems mad. I guess our trip to Disney World is off.

This is amazing. Does anyone ever meet a real human being this way?

My friend Mike badgered me into this. He met a Spirit-filled lady who looks great and teaches firearms classes. She was so promising, they actually visited each other.

Maybe there was a Nigerian guy hiding inside her.

Two more “Removed User” notices. Christian Mingle should pay me.

One lady messaged and said she was messaging on behalf of her friend Tina. All I had to do to see Tina’s pictures was to enter my username and password on another website. Yeah, that sounds smart.

I can’t help thinking of my experiences with churches. I showed up, full of sincerity, and I ended up giving my service to crooks, women with goddess complexes, and a child rapist. They all pretended to be the real thing, but I meant nothing to them, and so did God.

One of the harsh realities of life is that when you go out into the world looking to do good, you are always likely to run into a walking bag of pus who has spent his or her life training to punish you for doing it.

I wish I had something encouraging to say. I tried churches, and I was chased by women my friends still joke about. I quit going to church, and I met nobody. I checked out Christian Mingle, and I met men who type in pidgin English and seriously expect me to send them money.

Being single is not optimal, but it’s not painful, either, and it’s orders of magnitude better than spending my life with the wrong woman. If God has decided not to breach the barriers between me and marriage, I’ll be just fine.

I plan to talk to some more scammers now, simply because it’s entertaining. Might as well get something for my money.

MORE

I have to post more of this stuff.

She sent you a smile!

Me: Hi. I don’t use Google Hangouts, and I don’t give people my phone number.

Mingler_6f61: how are you doing today handsome man?

Me: I’m here to meet women, not male scammers in foreign countries.

Mingler_6f61: that sound good Handsome
what are you here for and where are you from as well

Me: I am here for great deals on counterfeit Louis Vuitton handbags, and I am from the planet Uranus.
Are you even reading this?

Mingler_6f61: yes handome

She sent you a smile!

Me: Hi. I don’t use Google Hangouts, and I don’t give people my phone number.

Mingler_3d07: Well it nice to meet you and i will like you to tell me about yourself..?

Me: I have never been to China, Russia, or Africa, and I don’t want to send my savings account there.

Mingler_3d07: Very Good..So tell me for how long have you been on here

Me: I am a giraffe, and I have been here ever since I escaped from the zoo.

I’m up to two more “Removed Users.”

Reexamining the DC Riot

January 19th, 2021

Seems Pointless in a Time When Facts Don’t Matter

I have learned that I was wrong about the Capitol riot.

When hyped-up Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, I looked at the news, and what I saw didn’t seem to be as bad as leftists were saying it was. Here is what I saw:

1. An angry crowd broke into the Capitol.
2. Police shot an unarmed woman who was climbing past a security barrier and killed her.
3. One person in the crowd died from a heart attack.
4. A police officer died in some way related to crowd control.
5. The crowd overcame another police officer and put him on the ground but did not kill him.
6. Some idiots went into restricted areas and posed with selfies.
7. A couple of pipes with wires were found in Washington the same day, but no one had established that they were on the scene at the Capitol or that they were bombs.

I thought the death of the unarmed woman looked more like police misconduct than a necessary and natural consequence of the riot. Rioters generally have not been shot for entering government buildings. If police did that, imagine how many dead leftists there would be.

I thought the death of the heart attack victim didn’t have anything to do with the people who entered the Capitol. The press harped on it because it helped them inflate the casualty toll, and that was dishonest.

I found out one other woman was trampled and died, and another man who was somewhere among the DC protestors, or maybe among the rioters, died from a stroke. Back when all the riot news was emerging, I didn’t know about those deaths because they weren’t mentioned in the stories I read. That being said, the woman who was trampled is no different from the people BLM and Antifa have accidentally killed, and the stroke victim shouldn’t even be in the news.

It looks like I’m still right about the woman who was shot and the heart attack victim, so no apology there. I have to add that it’s strange how leftist journalists treated all the conservative casualties as though they were targeted victims of the mob.

I will also say I don’t apologize for saying the riot was overhyped. It was not a coup or an attempt to kill legislators. It was also much gentler than most leftist riots. Amazingly, the rioters went home when they were confronted and scolded. Try that with BLM. Leftist terrorists have attacked local and federal government buildings many times, and they have tried to burn them with government employees inside, and while all that was going on, the press called them “protestors”, and businesses like Amazon signaled their solidarity with them.

Was the riot terrorism? Terrorism is the use or threat of violence in order to force political ends. This riot doesn’t qualify. The participants were generally trying to demonstrate their disapproval of the way the election was handled. There may have been a few hard core types among them who wanted to terrorize, but overall, they were just acting out, and they had no plan to occupy the building, destroy it, take hostages, or kill congressmen. They didn’t intend to frighten the government into overturning the election, and they weren’t trying to scare people into voting conservative.

So what was I wrong about?

First, the cop who was killed did not die in an accident. I have learned that someone hit him with a fire extinguisher. That looks like first-degree murder to me, and since it occurred in a federal district, I assume the death penalty applies. People who murder cops need to be prosecuted. Of course, I’m saying all this with limited knowledge of the facts, so I may be wrong.

Second, the cop who was knocked down says more than one person urged his assailants to kill him with his own gun. The rioters themselves protected him and prevented this from happening, but they should never have battered or restrained him in the first place. They should be prosecuted for whatever battery offense applies, on top of the charges related to breaking and entering, and anyone who suggested killing him should do multiple decades in prison.

I never supported mobbing the Capitol. I think all political rioters should be arrested and prosecuted. Unfortunately, leftist politicians and prosecutors have established a bad precedent by restraining the police and dropping charges for BLM and Antifa, so the picture becomes cloudy when it comes to the DC riot. Surely, right-wing rioters will be treated much worse than leftists, but I think they would be in bigger trouble had left-wing rioters been getting what they deserve.

As for the general climate, things seem to be much worse than the public understands. I like to shoot, so I have alerts set up to help me get ammunition. The alerts tell me when ammo is available. They have been going off less and less frequently. People are really stocking up. I’m also trying to get parts for firearm projects, and the situation is not good. For example, complete upper receivers for AR-15’s are hard to come by. The easiest products to buy are undesirable junk and high-end products no one can afford.

On a lark, I decided to look at 80% gun frames and receivers. These are unfinished, nonfunctional parts you finish at home. The BATF doesn’t consider them guns, so anyone can order them over the web. The supply has really dried up. A gun you complete yourself has no serial number, so if you shoot someone with it and the police find it, the BATF can’t figure out who bought it when it was new. For this reason, these weapons are called “ghost guns.” They appeal to a lot of people who are bothered by the fact that every single numbered gun you buy new can be traced to you by the BATF. Effectively, there is a “ghost registry” through serial numbers.

I thought it might be fun to buy one of these things and finish it, and that’s why I checked their availability. Things have to be getting pretty bad when guns you have to finish manufacturing are hard to get.

Where are all these products going? People aren’t buying them so they can shoot ducks.

Oddly, conservatives are helping the government disempower their fellows. They’re snapping up gigantic quantities of things they don’t personally need, so they can resell them and make money. Having a few extra dollars so you can buy a new bass boat won’t mean much to you if civil war comes and your allies can’t defend themselves effectively.

People have been selling cheap .22 ammo for 50 cents per round. It usually runs about 6 cents. My buddy Mike wanted to get rid of an unfired Marlin Model 60 he had never shot, so he put it on Gunbroker.com. The new value of the gun and scope should be around $225, but he got $375. He also doubled his money on a shotgun he wasn’t using. The gougers and hoarders have made it possible for sellers with perfectly good intentions to reap windfalls.

Tomorrow is inauguration day, and I am longing for closure. If Biden has to be inaugurated, let’s get it over with. It’s as if America went to a rodeo featuring a dozen capable riders and bet on the clown, but okay, let’s put it behind us. What if we don’t get closure, though? What if something happens tomorrow, or what if something happens next week, and it’s so momentous it’s big enough to topple Biden?

I would love to see him knocked out of office. No doubt about it. I also think we may reach the point where reasonable people choose resistance over tyranny. But there is nothing comforting about any likely scenario, except for God’s protection for a few individuals and the possibility of the rapture. No matter what happens, I think things will go badly for America.

Coup Coup

January 17th, 2021

Prescient or Crazy?

“Prophets” on Youtube are still saying Biden won’t be inaugurated. It makes me wonder who is crazy: me or them?

I prayed for Trump to win, over and over, and I felt great faith that he would come out on top. That’s all true, but I have felt great faith for things that didn’t happen. When I asked God whether Trump would win, I felt he was saying “yes,” but I have been wrong in the past when I thought I was receiving answers from God. I cursed Biden and Harris and the spirits they serve with defeat, and I still do, but curses don’t always succeed.

I’m trying to keep track of what works and what sometimes fails. Prayer in tongues always works. I can’t recall saying anything stupid while prophesying. The little phrases God gives me from time to time seem reliable. Blessing and cursing don’t always result in success, but they are clearly powerful.

I subscribe to a channel belonging to a man named Kenneth Boork. He goes around healing people. He has a video where he freaked a Muslim out by healing him. He seems legitimate in some ways. Recently, he has been putting videos up saying there will be a big military coup that will prevent Biden from taking office. He also talks about the Illuminati, a group which, in my estimation, is about as influential as Milli Vanilli. He says the Deep State made America a corporation in 1963 and that Trump turned it back into a nation. I have no idea what that means.

He says we need the military to take over and execute traitors. Isn’t that what the Antichrist’s reign is supposed to look like? I can’t see Jesus ordaining a thing like that. God sent the ancient Hebrews to war all the time, but I’ve never heard of it happening under the new covenant.

I don’t know what to make of it. The healings seemed real, but now he seems like just another conspiracy nut.

I watch a preacher named Tom Fischer, who also heals people. I used to think he was very sound, but he married a lady who seems eccentric, and he went off on an essential oils kick. He says Trump will stay in the White House.

I watch a channel called Seeking God. It gets almost no views. The young lady who runs it has said a lot of very useful things, but she also said God had told her Trump would get his second term. What’s the explanation? Does she get real revelation which is sometimes contaminated by disinformation? Was it an illusion when she seemed to get revelation in the past?

I put up a Youtube comment asking one of these people how sure he was about his prediction, and some unknown Youtuber posted an extremely long response in which he claimed he had seen a vision of battle with a dragon, followed by God lifting Trump up and putting a military uniform on him. This person is convinced he, himself, is a prophet. First, I doubt he had a vision. I had a vision. When you have a vision, you see things in front of you as though they were real. Many people see things in their imaginations and call them visions. I think this guy is in the second camp. I don’t think he saw a battle with a dragon, and I think he imagined the business about Trump and a uniform.

People shouldn’t say they’ve had visions when they’ve only seen things in their minds. When I had my vision, I saw a female angel standing at the foot of my bed, and I saw light from heaven shining down on her. I was awake, and she was right in front of me. It wasn’t a mental impression. I wouldn’t call an impression a vision. If I did, I would have to say I have dozens of visions every day, and I don’t.

I suppose I was having visions when I was a small child and I saw giant bugs and reptiles crawling all over the bedroom. Things like that have happened over the last year. The other night, I woke up and saw something hovering right over me. It was a couple of feet above the bed. It looked a lot like a bodybuilder’s belly and chest, except it was glowing red. I couldn’t see the whole creature, and it vanished before I could get a good look. It was as though it were too close for me to see all of it. I cursed it and cast it out, but I have no idea what it was. I wasn’t afraid of it, but I was very angry. I would have taken a knife and gutted it if I could.

I would like to know what’s going to happen. I feel frozen in place. I feel like I can’t go on with life until the inauguration date has passed. I don’t want to make plans. I don’t want to start any projects. Either Biden will stink up the Oval Office with his whorish presence, and we’ll sink into leftist despotism right away, or we will witness the most extraordinary event ever to hit the United States.

I don’t see a coup coming. Where is the evidence? You would have to get thousands of troops, many of whom support Biden, to keep a secret and go along with a plan that could land them in prison.

The coup itself wouldn’t be as big a miracle as the successful concealment of the plan.

A couple of months ago, I would have asked God whether Biden will be inaugurated. I can’t do that now with any expectation of success. I don’t know the answer, I don’t know of a single “prophet” I can go to with any confidence, and the people who are predicting a coup are not credible at all.

I suppose you can work miracles and still be a bad prophet.

My suspicion is that our lack of clear guidance is caused by rejection of prayer in tongues. When I pray in tongues a great deal, everything works, slick as snot on a doorknob. Over the last few months, I haven’t done as much praying in tongues as I should have. I think it’s a certainty that the people who are making confident incorrect predictions aren’t praying in tongues much. Very few Christians do it. They let a few syllables go every once in a while, but they won’t go for an hour or more.

God has been giving me grace to get back to it, and I am making a point of taking advantage. It’s very clearly the most important, most powerful thing I do.

I’ve been trying to get humility. I’ve been reminding God I can’t do anything alone. I make a point of doing this with regard to things that seem very easy. Putting clothes in the washer. Making toast. “I know I can’t do this unless you help me, so please help, and glorify yourself in it.”

It doesn’t take much humility to ask God to help you get through medical school or win an Olympic medal. If you’re really humble, you know you can’t even put your socks on without God’s help.

I want humility because God helps the humble and fights the proud. I want help. I don’t want to earn anything. I want everything handed to me.

Satan loves hard work and self-confidence. After all, they got him where he is, and he wants us to join him.

Government-worshipers couldn’t wait for January 1 because they thought 2020 was evil and their problems would go away in 2021. Now 2021 is turning out to be worse than 2020, as everyone with common sense knew it would, and I’m sitting here looking forward to January 20. I don’t expect the world’s problems to end, but I expect closure.

Maybe I’m overly optimistic, if “optimistic” is the right word.

By the way, we’re supposed to get a huge locust attack this year. Don’t shoot the messenger. It wasn’t my idea.

I hope the “prophets” are right. I would love to see America get relief from the socialist plague. I don’t think it will happen, but that’s a guess, not a prophecy.

Lower Expectations

January 16th, 2021

Forget That Iceberg; Let’s Dance

It’s a beautiful Saturday, and I am stuck here waiting for a background check so I can pick up my new Anderson Manufacturing AR-15 lower receiver.

Yesterday, it arrived at the pawn shop I always use for transfers. I went in today, after donning the government-mandated China flu face diaper. Of course, I knew what was awaiting me: a group of people who would stare when I walked in. Nobody wears the diaper at that place. I saw I was among friends, and I took mine off.

Prior to the kung flu’s arrival, we had around 120 years of science leading to the conclusion that cloth masks do nearly nothing to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses. Suddenly, a few months after Anthony Fauci told us there was no point in wearing them, the establishment started telling us cloth masks were extremely important. I get a false sense of security when I wear mine, and it serves to shut people up, but the science backing it up appears to rival that supporting the rhythm method.

I feel a little strange walking into stores and banks wearing a mask and carrying a loaded gun and a big knife.

This was my first look at the lower, and I had mixed emotions. The good: I didn’t see any flaws, and it looked like it was manufactured to very high standards. The bad: it’s not as pretty as my other uppers. The actual receiver, meaning the aluminum housing everything attaches to, is very plain. The trigger is ugly. It looks similar to pot metal. It’s mil-spec, though, so it must work. I’m going to replace it as soon as my new trigger arrives, so it doesn’t matter.

The butt stock has already been replaced. The replacement is sitting beside me in a Fedex bag.

Was it a mistake to buy an assembled lower? I don’t know. The price was $10 below MSRP, the manufacturer makes quality receivers, and it was available right away. Replacing the trigger and butt stock will cost me around $130. Should I have bought a receiver without those parts? Could be. I would have had to get the buffer parts and install them, along with the grip, safety, and so on. I should be able to get 5 bucks for the old stock, and maybe I can sell the trigger parts, too.

I thought about people in tyrant-controlled states today. I thought about my cousin, who lives in the Illinois town Kyle Rittenhouse comes from. I feel so bad for them. I expect all of us to be tyrannized soon, but they’ve been putting up with it for decades. I was able to buy lots of guns with no waiting period. I never had to deal with an asinine, dangerous magazine limit. I have loaded up on mail-order ammunition. I’ve had a carry permit forever. I can drive around with a loaded AK in my truck. Florida isn’t perfect, but it could be so much worse.

I’ve been wondering what I’ll do when the civil war gets going. I’ll have to choose a side. I suppose that anyone who lives where I do will have to support the anti-Antichrist side or leave, even if he doesn’t take up arms.

Historically, Americans have chosen war and casualties over peace and tyranny. I think that’s what we’ll do this time, too.

Tyrants force wars to erupt by making people so miserable war looks better than compliance. I believe that’s where we’re headed. Gloating, sadistic statists will take pleasure in making us suffer, and they’ll overdo it. They’ll go after things that are too important for us to give up, and so many of us will be outraged, there will be sufficient support for rebellion.

It’s funny; Americans always seem to support nations that fight for independence, but half of the country opposed the Confederacy. Why is it that states can’t secede? “State” means “nation.” A state that can’t declare its independence isn’t a state. It’s a colony or an occupied territory. Why did the North feel it had the right to subdue the South? I’ve never seen that decision explained well.

It wasn’t because they wanted to rescue the slaves. The US didn’t have a history of trying to rescue slaves in other nations, and emancipation was not on the table when the war started. It had to be about wealth and domination.

The question of whether Americans are prisoners of the union doesn’t seem to come up much, but it looks like the answer is “yes.”

People are accusing Trump supporters of treason, while turning a blind eye to leftist terrorists who call openly for revolution. Personally, I think of treason as something you do to give an enemy an advantage over your nation. Seeking independence doesn’t seem like treason to me.

In America, you can get in very serious trouble for trying to overthrow the government, but should that be true if you’re really just trying to break off a few states? If I try to dethrone the president and Congress and impose a new system for all 50 states, it’s treason, but should it be considered treason if my state and I simply want to break up with the US, while leaving the existing government in charge of the remaining states?

I never thought I’d have to think about these things until recently.

If civil war starts, and I cooperate with the people who are in charge in my area of the country, recognizing their authority, will that make me a criminal?

My great-grandfather fought for the Confederacy, but he wasn’t tried or sentenced as a criminal. The North tried to kill him every day while he was in uniform, but when the war was over, they didn’t go after him.

I’m writing as though there will be a cessation of hostilities followed by reconciliation. That won’t happen this time. The tribulation will start, and things won’t ever go back to normal.

I guess I don’t have to worry about how the union will perceive me in the post-conflict future. I don’t expect that future to exist until the tribulation ends. By then, there will be no union to bother me.

There will be no post-conflict future while the union exists. While the union exists, conflict will be the future.

Anyway, today Donald Trump is my president, and I’m going to go pick up a new lower receiver today or Monday, and eventually, my new upper should arrive. That’s not so bad.

Sufficient until the day is the evil thereof.

Glowing Squirrels

Finally Technology Does Something Really Useful

I did it. I went thermal.

Big Tech is doing exactly what I said it would do several years ago. They are removing conservatives and Christians from the most powerful public forums. Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube have banned our president, and Twitter’s ignorant, fascist CEO says he is planning to go after more accounts. I see we have passed a pivotal point in the Nurembergization of America, so I believe two things: it’s time to grab anything gun-related I might want to own in the future, and this is not the time to worry about dollars and cents. Either I have plenty for retirement regardless of my firearm purchases, or what I have will be taken away, so fretting over a few thousand dollars is silly.

I ordered a thermal monocular which is small and light, plus a fabric cap to hold it for me. A lot of people buy bulletproof helmets to hold their monoculars, but I’m not planning to engage in hostilities, so I didn’t see the point in putting a bedpan on my head.

I guess I’ll digress. Plastic ballistic (“bulletproof”) helmets aren’t all that great when it comes to blocking bullets. It’s kind of interesting. The primary purpose of a soldier’s helmet is to block shrapnel, which is generally easier to deal with than bullets. When you shoot a ballistic helmet with a powerful rifle round, it will probably go through. Not that it has to go through in order to hurt you. Just about any round will shatter the plastic and deform it, possibly injuring you and making it possible for future round to drive the softened helmet itself into your skull. A bullet doesn’t have to go into your brain to kill you or put you in diapers. If it can put so much pressure on a helmet it deforms and enters the space your brain occupies, it can end your life or make it necessary for what’s left of you to go “live” in a facility.

I don’t think shrapnel will be the primary concern in the impending worldwide murder epidemic. Maybe I’m wrong. I’m just applying common sense to the limited information I have. I would think bullets and knives would be the big evils.

It looks like there are two kinds of hard helmets: ballstic helmets and bump helmets. A bump helmet is a much cheaper option, and the purpose is to protect you from things like clubs. I don’t think I need one of those. If a leftist pogrom mob is close enough to me to hit me with a club, I’ve already lost. The only way to protect yourself is to keep them at a distance.

My opinion is that a lot of people who are looking forward to civil war have unrealistic expectations for body armor and helmets.

Maybe I’m a hypocrite. I bought body armor. I wasn’t sure if I wanted it, so I bought it just to be safe. It was getting scarce, America was getting very angry, and I thought armor could be useful for home protection. If I’m willing to protect my chest, why didn’t I buy a helmet?

I think the armor was a waste of money, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to sell it if I want.

As for non-rigid caps that hold optics, here’s how they work. You mount your optic on your cap using a hinged arm and some other surprisingly expensive things. When you want to look at stuff, you swing the monocular down in front of your eye, and it turns on. The rest of the time, it’s out of your line of sight.

Thermal monoculars can be useful for a number of things. They can help you spot game which is concealed by darkness or partial concealment. They can help you track wounded game. Of course, they can also help you spot home invaders in and around your home. I don’t plan to hide behind sandbags and shoot leftist terrorists when things get bad and they come to my property, but I have to admit it would be nice to be able to spot them a long way off. It could give me time to pray, flee, write a goodbye note, set out some tofu, or whatever. It might give me a chance to drive them off with warning shots.

I want to try thermal for hunting. I want to use it to find animals to shoot. I also want to use it to find animals that are wounded, so I can finish them off.

I got advice from more-advanced gun nuts. Maybe asking was a mistake. Nothing satisfies these people. You say, “I’m thinking of getting a $3000 640 by 480 60 Hz BLMFinder Plus.” They say, “Don’t be an idiot. For just $40,000 more, you could get the Ultra-4K 2 GHz 3000-yard Hippiebuster Pro that interfaces with shoulder-fired missiles.”

There are some heavy-duty snobs in the night vision/thermal world, and more than a few of them are preparing for the specific purpose of going to war with statist lynch mobs and federal troops commanded by Biden (perhaps I repeat myself). You can’t let people like that set your standards. I want to locate hogs and squirrels PRETTY well. I don’t need to own equipment SEAL’s won’t have until next year.

I look forward to playing with this stuff.

My hobbies seem more important than ever. The end of the age is really here, and for a long time, I’ve had the firm feeling that what I do now doesn’t matter. The statists will win, God will extract his people, and that will be that. I’ll be raptured, or I’ll be killed. If I delete my blog and pretend I’ve had a leftist awakening, and if I destroy all my guns and start recycling and criticizing white people, it won’t help me, because I have a long, undeletable record of thoughtcrime, and leftists do not forgive. Kissing up to them now won’t help, and fighting them by carnal means won’t help. I don’t want to kiss up anyway. The thought is nauseating. I feel like all I can do is pray and entertain myself.

I wish I had done more things with guns and hunting back when ammunition was available and there was still some freedom left.

If Biden really assumes office, it’s going to be amazing to watch how the country transforms. He has a mandate. Conservatives hate to hear that, but it’s true. It may be a stolen mandate. I don’t know. But it’s a mandate. He has all of Congress plus the power to pack the Supreme Court. I foresee incredibly painful attacks on our rights. Curfews. Idiotic mask laws. Semiautomatic weapon confiscation. Unbearable environmental laws. A complete end to free speech. A lot of it should happen in 2021, and once Biden is removed and Harris takes over, it will be much worse. She will be the most vile tyrant we’ve ever seen, and we won’t be able to do a thing about it.

Holding onto this world is a big mistake. It’s turning into a soiled diaper. We have to stop lying to ourselves and seek shelter in God. The political fight appears to be lost forever. It’s insane to try to take the country back.

There is nowhere to go now. Persecuted Christians have always been able to flee to America. Now America appears to have fallen. It’s as though God has left the temple, the way he did before Titus destroyed it. Josephus, a Jew who did not believe in Jesus, wrote this:

Thus also before the Jews’ rebellion, and before those commotions which preceded the war, when the people were come in great crowds to the feast of unleavened bread, on the eighth day of the month Xanthicus, [Nisan,] and at the ninth hour of the night, so great a light shone round the altar and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright day time; which lasted for half an hour. This light seemed to be a good sign to the unskillful, but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes, as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it.

At the same festival also, a heifer, as she was led by the high priest to be sacrificed, brought forth a lamb in the midst of the temple. Moreover, the eastern gate of the inner [court of the] temple, which was of brass, and vastly heavy, and had been with difficulty shut by twenty men, and rested upon a basis armed with iron, and had bolts fastened very deep into the firm floor, which was there made of one entire stone, was seen to be opened of its own accord about the sixth hour of the night.

Now those that kept watch in the temple came hereupon running to the captain of the temple, and told him of it; who then came up thither, and not without great difficulty was able to shut the gate again. This also appeared to the vulgar to be a very happy prodigy, as if God did thereby open them the gate of happiness. But the men of learning understood it, that the security of their holy house was dissolved of its own accord, and that the gate was opened for the advantage of their enemies. So these publicly declared that the signal foreshowed the desolation that was coming upon them.

The 9th through 11th chapters of Ezekiel seem to be a pattern for what we’re seeing. Here is some food for thought:

And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn by his side;

And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary.

Sounds a lot like the rapture and tribulation, doesn’t it?

It will be nice to have some new toys. I hope I’m not on earth to see human beings use them against each other.

Tiny Distances for Tiny Prey

January 13th, 2021

Rimfire is What it Is

I was planning to get out the Sweet Sixteen and go back to the squirrel wars, but today I decided it was best to do some .22 shooting. The Sweet Sixteen is a much more effective squirrel weapon, but it takes a lot of the skill out of the process. I have been having problems killing squirrels cleanly with rifles, so I felt like I should go out and check my rifles on the bench at known distances.

I belong to some gun forums, and I sought information about my problems. Naturally, people tried to tell me I couldn’t shoot, and they made up nonsense about how they never missed and never failed to get a clean kill. I figured it couldn’t hurt to practice, if only to reassure myself.

This afternoon, I moved my bench to 25 yards from my targets, and I started shooting CCI 36-grain Mini-mags. I was using my Savage A22 and Nikon Prostaff II scope.

I was not very happy with my first set of groups, and I went in the house, figuring maybe the Savage was not going to work out with squirrels. Then I thought about the ammunition and the way I had held the gun. CCI Mini-mags are very popular, but they’re not high-end ammunition. As far as I know, all .22 LR ammunition, even the pricey stuff, is less accurate than good centerfire ammunition. Maybe I’m wrong, but people on the web get bad results with expensive .22 LR ammo, including Eley, all the time. Maybe I needed to try something other than Mini-mags. Also, I had been trying to use a different technique to hold the gun, and I wondered if that had screwed things up.

I got more Mini-mags, some CCI standard velocity ammo, and some Remington Golden Bullets, and I went back out.

This time, I held the rifle in a pretty conventional way, and I was very careful to contact the trigger with the same part of my finger every time.

The results were better, but not inspiring. With the Mini-mags and standard velocity ammo, I shot somewhere under an inch, except for one crazy flyer. The Golden Bullets were very disappointing. The groups were bigger.

I’ll post a photo of the Mini-mag target.

I know the problem is with the Golden Bullets, not me, because I alternated targets. I didn’t shoot all of the groups for one brand at once and then move on. I shot two groups with each brand, switched, and shot two groups with the next brand. The Remington groups weren’t bigger because I was tired or because I wasn’t warmed up.

The groups are not bad, but they’re not making me ecstatic. The squirrels where I live are tiny, so their brains are tiny, too. You really need to be able to shoot half-inch groups in the field in order to kill squirrels quickly. I can do that from 50 feet. At 25 yards, it’s a crap shoot. I shot into something like half an inch from the bench today, most of the time, but I don’t hunt from a bench, so I should expect 25-yard shots to be less accurate in the woods.

I can continue using rifles, but I’ll have to wait for very close shots. I guess I have to decide whether I want to kill several squirrels per day or just one.

Sling Blued

January 12th, 2021

Better Than Biscuits and Mustard

What do you do when you have a small steel part you want to blue? You get out your Birchwood-Casey Super Blue and paint it up, right?

That’s what I used to do. Today I decided to try oil-bluing for the first time.

What is oil bluing? Funny you should ask. It’s an old, simple way to blue and even case-harden parts. If your part is hardenable steel, oil-bluing may harden it all the way through, because it’s basically the same thing as heating and quenching. If you harden a part that shouldn’t be hard, you’ll have to anneal it later.

I modified my friend Mike’s Marlin Model 60 stock to accept a real sling stud, not one of those stupid things that clamp to the barrel. In order to make the modification work, I had to grind a dome nut down to about 0.180″ thick. In this case, a dome nut is a little nut that goes inside a gun stock. The stud’s screw goes through it. There is very little room inside the Model 60 for a nut, so you have to make your nut smaller in order for it to fit. You also have to use a 3/8″ Forstner bit to drill out a cavity inside your stock, and it has to be deep enough for the nut to rest in it without protruding.

Grinding the nut took the bluing off one side, and I wanted to replace it, even though the nut would be hidden.

I found some Kubota conventional motor oil in the workshop. I would never use this stuff because I like synthetic. I poured some in a soup bowl and put it on my kitchen counter. It’s great to be single. I took a little wire and ran it through the nut so I could use the wire to hold it. I heated the nut until it was red hot. I dropped the hot nut into the oil, and I was done.

The nut is blued, I didn’t have to buy Super Blue, and the job is finished.

Buffing it would have made it even better. I don’t want the buffer throwing hard-to-find nuts all over the workshop, however.

Incidentally, if you want to do this modification to your Model 60, here’s how you find out if your nut and screw clear the magazine tube, which will sit on top of the cavity the nut sits in. You use an ohmmeter. If the screw or nut touches the magazine, the resistance between the screw or nut and the magazine will be nearly zero. If not, it will be infinite. If it’s not infinite, make the hole deeper or grind the metal parts until you get zero.

You’re welcome.

The gun is much improved now. Mike owes me.

Today I read that a product called Nu-Blue, from Stockdoc.com, looks and protects better than the other quick bluing products. Don’t know if it’s true. Some guy tested a bunch of products.
