I really can’t keep up with my testimony. There is so much, I can’t write about it and still have time to live.
Today I got a very moving email from Aaron, my friend of 31 years. It included a link to this Youtube video.
That’s Ohr Somayach (“Happy Light”), the yeshiva in Jerusalem where I ambushed Aaron in 1984. I arrived in Israel on the eve of shabbat, on the weekend of Purim. I had to spend the night in Ein Harod, but the next day, I made it to Jerusalem and found Ohr Somayach. I knew I was in the right place when I saw Aaron’s horrifying plaid boxers hanging outside a dorm room, on a clothesline.
Aaron was in shul, davening. But he was not dressed like a yeshiva bucher. He was dressed like one of the thugs in A Clockwork Orange. I didn’t know Jews were supposed to wear costumes on Purim. I guess I figured his twig had finally snapped.
I ended up joining in the celebration you see above. What a privilege.
When I got the email from Aaron, I realized what the video meant.
In 1984, before I had any idea what my destiny was, God took me to Israel to celebrate the holiday on which Jews commemorate their victory over their Gentile enemies. Haman, who represents the spirit of anti-Semitism (same thing as antichrist, to me), was hanged on the gallows he built for his Jewish enemy, Mordecai. Haman’s sons were hanged along with him. Centuries later, Hitler’s top men were hanged on the same day.
God put me in Israel, to celebrate this holiday, because he knew that my destiny was to participate in the rebuilding of Israel. Today I am privileged to help, through the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and other means. I am even helping a messianic synagogue develop an armorbearer team.
I didn’t know why I was in Israel, but God knew, and he didn’t tell me the reason until this morning.
Choose your side. You will be for God and Israel, or against, and God will reward you accordingly, in this life and the next. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
As for Aaron and me, we will eventually agree on the Messiah’s identity. Maybe one day we’ll toast him in Jerusalem. On Purim, you’re supposed to drink until you can’t tell the difference between blessing Mordecai and cursing Haman. If El Al permits, I’ll bring the homebrew.

The midrash records that Haman had a daughter who committed suicide. She intended to pour out a chamberpot on Mordechai who was supposed to be leading Haman on the king’s horse. When, the tables turned, she realized she had poured filth on her father, she committed suicide.

There was supposed to be an 11th Nazi executed… but Goring, who famously cross-dressed, committed suicide.

But wait… there’s more. For nearly 2500 years the Book of Esther (and elsewhere in Jewish scripture) has been written with a few letters smaller and some larger, ancient tradition, and the reason for each instance isn’t always explained.

Those in the list of Haman’s sons in Esther 9:7,9 aren’t explained in any classical sources. Recently, however, it has been discovered that these letters, which occur in the section describing the hanging deaths of Haman’s ten sons, may contain an uncanny hint to the Nuremberg trials in which ten Nazis were tried and hanged for their anti-Semitic crimes.
The Jewish calendar year is represented by Hebrew letters. The small letters in the names of Haman’s ten sons are: “tav” “shin” “zayin.” The large letter is “vav.” See http://www.betemunah.org/purim_files/image007.gif These letters represent the year 707 (“tav shin zayin” equal 707) of the sixth millennium (represented by the large “vav” which equals 6). Thus you have the Jewish date 5707, or 1946 by the civil calendar. On the first of October, 1946 — 6 Tishrei 5707 on the Jewish calendar, smack dab in the middle of the “Days of Awe” between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

The hangings were delayed until Hoshanah Rabbah, the final day of the festival of Sukkot. That day is considered to be Yom Kippur for gentiles.

Coincidences aren’t proof. But can anyone provide a different explanation why THOSE letters might be in THAT place in scripture?

I swear, sometimes I think you should watch Perry Stone to brush up on the Talmud. He has taught a lot of the things you mentioned.

Pardon a digression for my Christian readers. Today a friend of mine who works in our children’s ministry was up on the stage, and I was guarding the area. I heard him mention Esther and Mordecai, so I went and listened. He told the story of Purim, without using the word “Purim.”

I told him it was remarkable that someone at Trinity Church was teaching about Purim on this day. He asked me what Purim was.

To me, this is the Ruach Hakodesh at work. You can chalk it up to blind Gentile luck, however.
