Optical Allusion

Still thinking about optics. Reader Blindshooter recommended a Leupold VX-3 scope with a 50mm objective, in 6.5×20 power. It’s confusing because it comes in various versions, including tactical and varmint/target.

I can’t use the new gun unless I have a scope when it arrives. I suppose I could borrow a scope from one of my other guns.

With all the ammunition and crap I’ve ordered recently, I’m surprised Janet Napolitano hasn’t friended me on Facebook.

Ought to be a man and get a gun safe while they’re on sale.

Steve, if you want to move the scope from one upper to another that has the same rail, check out the Leupold QRW rings. I have used these to move one scope on several guns with good results. Just keep up with the different zero’s. I always keep a small notebook in each gun case with that rifle(or upper) no wind zero.

You can spend a fortune on good mounts that you can move from one gun to another or one upper to another without pulling your hair out. Some of the cheaper stuff will work fine if you glue it together and don’t plan on moving it around much. I think money spent on good mounts and rings are well worth the extra cost. If the rail is a low one and depending on the butt stock configuration you may need a block to raise the height of the scope or get the high QRW rings( they come in three heights I think). I don’t mean to sound like a Leupold salesman as there are other mfg with stuff just as good or better.

My Dad had a bad day today with a blocked catheter, I won’t go into details but he is better now. The Docs can’t get the bleeding to stop without fear of a blood clot from a metal heart valve. Any prayers are much appreciated.

Wait…cheap rings can ruin your shooting? I think all my scopes have cheap rings.

You don’t have a gun safe yet!!??

Get the biggest safe you have room for. You’ll fill it up right quick. Also Google “store more guns” for a great product!
