Matched Set
October 24th, 2009Why not Pack Them in the Same Box?
Tonight I went to the drugstore to stock up on toilet paper. While I was there, I remembered that I needed some old-man cereal. So I showed up at the register with a box of Fiber One and a twelve pack of Scott tissue.
I apologize to the makers of Fiber One if the sight of me with these items discouraged any shoppers from trying their product.

Allow me to put in a plug for Charmin Ultra-Soft. It’s excellent toilet paper, and it has the added bonus of making lefty-environuts cringe with its 2-ply goodness. Win/Win!

Taking your idea one step (or several steps) further, why not package the Habanero Sauce with the Scott Tissue together in matched sets in the Freezer case?

Ah, to see the surviellance tape . . . soon to be a CVS classic.

Every restaurant isn’t Taco Bell, but I’m pretty sure every drugstore is CVS.

CVS is just starting in my market area, but I hear then like to take over.
Steve, I recommend getting one of the over-the-counter bulk formers – Metamucil or Citrucel – in tablet form. Easy to take, it’s just fiber, not a laxative. Then you can vary your cereal choices.

Hmm. A cross-promotion of those two products might be in order. Just don’t mistake the one for the other.

CVS will never make it here. We have Walgreens and Bartells which both are nicer than the CVS’s I saw on my recent trip through the Southland.

Here in Michigan you will almost invariably have a Walgreen on one corner and a CVS across the street with maybe a Rite-Aid diagonal top one of them.

Wow…What a discussion. Who da ever thought…huh?

I second KSgop’s recommendation; my family is very appreciative of ply’s and quilting. Professional disclaimer: I work for a part of that company.

CVS is competing quite well with Walgreens and Osco in the Chicago area market. Here we have a CVS and Walgreens diagonally across the intersection, with a Starbucks and a Caribu Coffee running the opposite diagonal. Along with 17 mini branch bank offices and some little medical offices.
.
After having to go fiber crazy (in the wake of the colon cancer event), I found that it is much more effective – and roughly equal from a taste standpoint – to simply eat the toilet paper. And the added benefit is that one’s backside is then self-wiping.
