Bridgeport Feed Screw

Nothing is Simple

How big a deal is replacing a feed screw in a Bridgeport mill? I have my eye on a mill with a cheesy old power feed, and I am told I’d need a new feed screw if I upgraded to a Servo.

You can still use the leadscrew by hand. By the time you’re ready to install a servo, you’ll be able to figure it out. it’s really not that damned hard at all.

    Steve,
It’s “Leadscrew”, and it’s trivial to replace. Might take you 10 minutes, far less time than shimming the gears in the Servo power feed will require.
