The Boob’s Tube
April 10th, 2009Another Piece of Mediocre Carpentry Finished
I have a few pointers for people who want to challenge my greatness by putting TVs on shelves in their garages.
1. Do not assume your garage walls are square to each other or even close to it.
2. When you have to use a hole saw to drill UP through plywood, the time you spend looking for the face shield will not be regretted.
3. When Home Depot puts $5.00 brackets on sale for half price, there is probably an excellent reason.
4. Never mount a television 80″ above the floor in a crowded corner if the remote “ON” button has gone dead.
More advice as it dawns on me.
Also, Glenn Beckside has a vital Twitter update.

Glenn Beck told me, the masons are using your remote’s ON button in their bizarre rituals.

Wow, it looks like you have high ceilings. When the kids bikes are hung up, I keep whacking my forehead on the handle bars (the bikes are hung upside down).
.
My habit of wearing baseball caps is probably not helping…
.
Off topic…I tried the Pizza recipe tonight and it got rave reviews from the family. I think I need to practice “tossing” some more though.

You can probably improve it by using less yeast and making the dough a day in advance, but I don’t have enough character to do that.

I accidentally halved the yeast (I doubled the recipe to make some Garlic Rolls as well and forgot to double the yeast). The crust turned out great (although the rolls could have used more yeast). The only complaint was the crust was a little hard at the edge (I pinched it over to achieve a more round shape…hence the tossing comment).
.
I was already thinking about making the dough a day in advance, since the Pizza is for “Family Friday Pizza Movie Night” (a weekly tradition) and the family gets a little impatient.
.
Thanks for a great recipe!

Swing-arm wall mount could afford some improvement in functionality.
Cheers
