Today’s Photographic Essay
April 7th, 2009Short
Today someone whose English is not completely up to speed informed me that there was a turkey in my yard.
Here’s what I saw when I looked:
I wondered if it would poop on the beautiful sheet of painted 3/4″ plywood I recovered from my dad’s abandoned warehouse. I had left it lying out there after moving it to get to a different sheet.
See if you can guess the answer.
When my dad and I went to breakfast today, this was parked next to us. I accidentally cropped the corner of the car off.
This phone takes pretty bad photos.
That’s one of my all-time favorite cars. You have to love a car that has a 500-plus cubic-inch engine and only two doors. It’s the perfect thing for offending liberals.

It’s not offensive if owned by Charlie Wrangle.

That is a thing of beauty. Looks well maintained. I didn’t see any purple shag though. Would go perfectly with your pearl handled pistol (when you can find the grips).

My husband was given a car like that when his uncle passed away back in the day. We in turn gave it to our daughter and her new husband when they were first married. THEY WRECKED IT! Aargh.

That car is Excellent! It reminds me of my ’73 Electra 225
Don’t be fooled. Just because it has 2 doors doesn’t mean it won’t hold 7 people. And I have to say…I don’t see you “Rollin’ on 24’s” living in SoFla or not.
That Chicken dropped Bling Bling all over your plywood

I wish that car was mine! That top would be down!

On my second day in Panama a few years ago four of us were driving up one of the roads on Fort Clayton when one of our members shouted out, “look at the turkeys”.
There were three red necked vultures standing in the middle of the road. I thought at first the guy had been making a joke. Sadly over the next few months I discovered the truth.

Looks like a peahen to me.

It is, in fact, a peacock. He’s just in repose.

Peahens are mousy-colored and tend to rove around in groups. Our neighbors used to have a bunch of them. The males would leave some of those gorgeous tail feathers lying around in our yard. They fell off in Springtime when they did the Dance Of Love.
I think that Pavo Real (Peacock) literally means ‘Royal Turkey’ in Spanish.
