One More for the List

Today I have an opportunity to return a favor, to some extent. Reader Ed Bonderenka and his friends gave me invaluable help, praying for me when I needed it. Now Ed needs some help:

On another note. please hold me in prayer. I’ve been seeing a doctor for some lower G.I. issues with little results. Thank God x-rays and ultrasound came back good Friday. But I’m in pain. Thanks.

“Lower G.I. issues.” Yeah, I’ve used that euphemism, too, Ed. Here’s something that has worked for me: blame it on the dog.

Seriously, though, keep Ed in your prayers.

    Will do.
Could you add my mom to that list as well. She had her last radiation treatment today. She won’t see the doctor for another two weeks-I don’t know why they wait like this!
    Thanks!

Actually I haven’t taken your mom off the list since last time. Let me know if she gets a remission, so I can stand down.

    I’ll keep Ed in prayer.

Ed, go get the pipe job, if you have never had one, its not bad and it can rule out a lot of things.

    “The pipe job”???

  5. JeffW Says:

Praying for Ed and Heather’s mom.

BTW, I don’t know if I ever commented, but Barb’s Ovarian Cancer never metastazied, was cleanly removed with the oopherectomy, and the prognosis is very very good that it will never ever return (a throughly God-based outcome). Needless to say, if Barb is still on your prayer list you can “stand down”.

    Thanks again for your prayers.

I am really glad to hear that, first because it’s good news, and second, because I am starting to confuse the people I am praying for.

    “The pipe job”???

Must be a colonoscopy, it does lessen the stress knowing that there isn’t anything serious to worry about.

I’ll be praying for Ed as well. The only thing I can suggest for lower GI stuff that might not pop up to regular doctors is to see a dietician. A lot of people pick up sensitivities to certain kinds of food as they go through life. It can cause all sorts of discomfort without being bad enough for a normal medical diagnosis/cure.

G*d know who you are praying for, even if you don’t.

  10. Freddie Says:

I was already praying for you, Ed, for other reasons. But now I’ll pray that you feel better and get the problem resolved asap.

    Thanks for posting this, Steve.

  11. blindshooter Says:

Pipe job = colonoscopy, sorry about that.

  12. Steve H. Says:

Could be worse. You could have called it “cylinder honing.”

  13. Ed Bonderenka Says:

    Cylinder Honing?!?!?
    Just got back from Doctor.
I would have never guessed I need lactulose. I hope that’s it.
    Thanks all for the prayers.

  14. Steve H. Says:

Great news, Ed. Now apologize to the dog.

  15. Max Jenkins Says:

Brother, I sympathize. I just went through several months of tests to prove that I did not have cancer. All I had was an irritated stomach, but it took an ultrasound – which found an irregularity in one of my kidneys – and a CT to prove I was not on the short list for checking out. I thank God that the result came back the way it did, but I do note that the CT exposed me to the equivalent of 500 chest X-rays – ten times more than I was exposed to as a nuclear weapons courier for three years. Sheesh.

I have been taking capsaicin pills for a month because I think they may help prevent butt cancer. Whatever Ed is going through can’t hold a candle to the month I’ve had.

I probably should not have mentioned an item associated with open flame.
