Man. Was he always that good, or do 1911s aim themselves and that’s why they are so popular?

That’s from 21′ at the LAX Range. I’ve been steadily improving, as Steve can attest from our first trip to the range a few years ago and another with Moxie the year after that. Once I settled on the 1911 model as being one that was especially comfortable for my larger-than-average hands, I took Steve’s advice and test-drove the SW1911. I’d also tried Colts and Springfields, mil-spec and shiny stainless (bling). I also tried Glocks and the Springfield XD-9. I’m exceedingly happy with this pistol. I’m looking forward to becoming as comfortable with it as I was with the baseball glove of my youth, which was an extension of me.
My target at 41′ had almost nothing resembling a grouping.
I’m pleased with my current ability but I also look forward to growing in proficiency. I shoot right-handed but with my stronger left eye. I’ll eventually learn better technique to compensate.
Still nowhere near Steve, but at least now he won’t be embarrassed when he goes to the range with me.
You both may be pleased that I met some folks from http://www.jpfo.org at the range yesterday. Wearing my yarmulke, I guess I stood out.
