Prayer Follow-Up
January 6th, 2009Battle Ends
A while back, I posted a prayer request from a reader. His mother was coming to the end of her struggle with lung cancer, and he asked people to pray that the end would be easy. Here is an email I received yesterday:
Mom left us today @1:00. Please thank everyone at the blog for the prayers. A prayer that I don’t come apart at the seams would be nice. Thank you for any good thoughts my way.
I thought you would want to know.

Steve – I hope your reader is comforted by the many wonderful memories he has of his mom. I hope he is comforted that she is no longer struggling and is out of pain. I hope that I’m sure his mother was proud of her son and had years of happiness and joy from him gives him comfort.

Even when we know we are losing them, when we know they are no longer struggling or in pain, we hurt when they are gone. I pray there is comfort and peace for the one who has lost his mother. My mother was 89 when she died, I still miss her. I’m a big girl but I still think of her when I see something unique and I want to share it with her. Grief will pass, but missing still lingers, poignant and sometimes bittersweet. “Memories, sweet memories oh how they linger….” An old song and very true. Our prayers are with him.

This is so true. I hope your reader can find peace. I will pray that he does.

I hope the passing was as painless as can be. Warm thoughts to your reader.
