Unproductive Morning

Go Read the Paper

I wrote a big long post about the lack of Mexican food in England, and then I realized it wasn’t good Sunday material, so I had to save it as a draft.

Dang it.

Now I can’t think well enough to write a second long post, because Marv is behind me yelling, “Can I rub your snout?” over and over.

I paid for this bird. That’s the bizarre thing. I wasn’t forced to accept it as part of a plea bargain. I took perfectly good money and exchanged it for this creature.

Today, my sister and I will be going to Rich Wilkerson’s church. I hope it will be like last week’s visit. I physically felt the presence of God there. That’s a hard experience to turn down. I think any atheist or agnostic who claims to be open-minded should visit a church like this one. If you can experience this and continue to claim there is no god, you are beyond reach. I believe most people who claim there is no evidence of the existence of God are very determined not to look for it. You can find it if you try.

Please please PLEASE promise me that you will read The Shack by William P. Young. If necessary, I will buy it myself for you and have Amazon ship it to you. It really made a humongous difference for me in the way I understand God.

I watched the Marvin videos, my love bird, Peaches was enthusiastically singing back at Marvin. So, if nothing else, you got her all fired up.

Unfortunately, atheists and agnostics would only see the form and not feel the substance of the service. Some can not or will not see what is right in front of them. Remember, there were people laughing at Noah while it was raining.

There are Mexican restaurants in England. There are also Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, Indian, Middle Eastern, Greek…

A quick Google will confirm this. I’m tired of posting the links everywhere. This is the 21st century — Britain has joined the rest of the world foodwise; even in the 80s when I visited you could find Indian and Chinese places to supplement the school-lunch-style British native cuisine. However, I don’t know if the concept of iced tea has hit Blighty. I think they may have a law against it.

You know you love that bird! You just can’t quit him!

He likes you. What can you do? Might as well scratch him and feel your blood pressure drop.

My son got Baptized today (he’s 10 if you’re wondering) and I definitely felt God’s presence. It’s amazing to see God’s salvation worked out in others (especially loved ones).

On Mexican Food; when I lived in England, a pretty good Mexican Restaurant opened up nearby but none of the British knew what it was supposed to taste like (it was empty most weekends). I got tired of correcting the waiters on how to pronouce “Tortillas”…it closed six months later.

They’re always giving streets in Miami honorary names. No one pays attention — theydecided to call 27th Avenue “Unity Boulevard” but I don’t think anyone ever uses it.

Hm, who taught the bird that question?
