Fast for McCain!

November 2nd, 2008

Pull Out the Stops

I was IMing with Aaron tonight, and he mentioned his plan to fast tomorrow, in hopes of helping McCain win. I had been thinking of doing the same thing. He’s going from one hour before dawn until sundown.

I say we go for it.

WHO’S WITH US?

Pray too, of course. Otherwise you’re just dieting badly.

We’re not Alone!

Look!

I’d say less to make McCain win, and more to protect us from the damage that Obama and a Democratic Senate supermajority would cause. I want the country to wake up from its moral slumber. But it starts with the man in the mirror.

    I will join in.

I do have to figure at this point that divine intervention is the only way to stop the annointing of the ObaMessiah (along with a filibuster proof Senate and even more overwhelming House majority for the Pelosi bunch).

I’m fasting tonight, but that’s because I have a colonoscopy scheduled in the A.M.
    Does that count?

How do you all fast? Do you allow yourself juice or broth?
Some people do go with broth and juice. Just curious.
    I noticed another blogger http://theanchoressonline.com/
    has also been fasting.

  5. Moxie Says:

Count me in. While not a believer, I’ll do ANYTHING that might help us avoid Dear Leader.

But why tomorrow and not Tuesday?

  6. Mike LaRoche Says:

Tuesday would seem better, because at the end of the fast I could celebrate the McCain victory by enjoying a Shiner Bock and a Perdomo cigar.

  7. Billy Says:

I’m with Heather. What are the exact requirements for fasting?

  8. gerry from valpo Says:

Call me old-school but I prefer sacrificing a lamb.

  9. Sparrow Says:

Count me in. I’m just happy that daylight savings is done so sundown comes an hour earlier…

  10. Peter Says:

    Good idea. Im in.

Why Monday? I’m taking my lead from the example of Queen Esther, who led a national fast for days before the verdict, not the day of. It was the day of Purim that Haman’s edict to exterminate all Jews through Ahashuerosh’s kingdom was overturned. Monday is a day of preparation and Tuesday is a day of action. Prayer is appropriate for both days.

Also, until about an hour after sundown, actually, not just sundown.

  13. TC Says:

    I’m in.

  14. TheGunGeek Says:

Great idea. I’ve always liked the expression “Fasting without prayer is just going hungry.”

Of course, I fast the first Sunday of every month anyway, so that was yesterday, but you can add me to the list for tomorrow.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that another blogger in Virginia is fasting also. http://catholicsoccermom.blogspot.com/
