The Neighs Have It

If the CDC is Right, I Should be Dead by Sunset

Trump won the election, the earth is flat, and I just took ivermectin.

Well, I’m not too sure about those first two assertions. The earth is LOCALLY flat. I know that because I have not fallen off of it.

I guess I should say this: IVERMECTIN IS A DEADLY POISON, AND IT WILL SURELY KILL YOU. DO NOT TAKE IVERMECTIN JUST BECAUSE A GUY WHO WRITES A BLOG TOOK IT. I AM NOT A DOCTOR. YOU CAN TELL I’M NOT A DOCTOR, BECAUSE I DRIVE AMERICAN CARS. BEWARE OF IVERMECTIN! DR. FAUCI SAYS NOT TO TAKE IT, AND HE KNOWS EVERYTHING!

I don’t know if it’s safe to take horse medicine. If you take it and die, don’t come running to me.

I did take it, though.

I went to my local Tractor Supply and saw they had a big new box of syringes. When I took one to the register, the cashier said, “Please don’t tell me you’re going to take it in the car.” I said, “No comment.”

I had read that the per-pound dose for people was the same as it was for horses. The plunger on the syringe has little marks on it so you can measure out the right amount. I took it with water but no food because I had read that this was the right thing to do. Then I got on the web and read that it was actually better to take it with a meal, so I ate a big slab of London Broil and some Toasty Cheez-Its.

Rhodah also bought ivermectin. African pharmacies sell it over the counter for worms, and everyone there takes it. I thought it would be good to get some pills so I could quit eating horse paste, so I told her to buy two courses for me and one for her. This was before I learned Tractor Supply had ivermectin.

Now we have way too much ivermectin, at least for the near future.

They have jacked up the price in Zambia. They know what people are using it for. The pharmacist asked her if it was for a COVID patient.

I don’t know if ivermectin will prevent or treat COVID, but I do know a couple of things.

First, it’s not “horse medicine.” It was developed for use on human beings, and it has served that purpose for over 30 years. Animals don’t get by on huge catalogs of medicines that can’t be used to treat people. Many medicines are used on a wide variety of creatures. Obvious. Everyone knows this. I’ve taken my parrots to vets more than once, and they always received medications that were also popular for treating human beings.

Second, I know manufacturers are not putting poison in horse paste just because it’s not for human beings. If a horse can eat a tablespoon of horse paste with no ill effects, surely I can eat half a teaspoon. The CDC is trying to convince us that veterinary preparations are poisonous. That isn’t true. Do I have proof? No, but I’m not an idiot.

Is there anything a horse can eat that a human being can’t? I’ll bet there isn’t. Human beings are omnivorous, and horses are not. I can eat any animal that walks the earth. I can eat almost any fish. I can eat bugs. I can eat an enormous variety of plants. I can eat things that kill dogs and parrots. What is the likelihood that horse paste makers managed to find something only horses can tolerate AND put it in a product they know may find its way into people? Not high.

If horse paste is poisonous, where are the deaths? There are none, of course. Why is the CDC spreading scare stories? Is that how “THE SCIENCE” works?

Huffpo, which, of course, sides with the CDC, says, “improper use of the drug can lead to nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hypotension, decreased consciousness, confusion, hallucinations, seizures, coma and death.” Similar things are true of beer, aspirin, acetominophen, PEZ, and tap water. Improper use of a stapler can result in blindness. Improper use of safety scissors can cause male sterility. If you’re taking a horse-sized dose of nearly any medicine, you should expect problems. As Paracelsus more or less said, “The dose makes the poison.”

The CDC’s condescending, elitist, dishonest approach reminds me of the gold watch story.

As recently as the 1980’s, doctors were telling ignorant people their dead relatives had complicated, expensive gold machines in them. They did this to justify autopsy requests. They would say, “When we were trying to save Uncle Sol, we put an extremely costly device inside him, and it’s made of pure gold. Now we need to find it and take it out because the hospital needs it back.” This standard fable was known as the gold watch story. You can probably look it up.

Why not just tell the truth? They could say, “Horse paste is extremely safe if you take the correct dose, but we don’t think it works, and you may make a mathematical mistake and get sick. Also, it interacts with a few other drugs, which may cause problems”?

I understand why doctors themselves are reluctant to give it to people (although many are). Medicine is a science-based art, and one of the big challenges is to advance knowledge by increasing the science and eliminating the art. When you’re looking for ways to treat a disease, you want good, solid studies. You don’t just throw different drugs at people and hope some of them get well. You might cure some people, but you won’t learn much that is useful for the treatment of others in the future.

Medicine is not just about treatment. It’s about accumulating knowledge. Adding variables without good reasons will make data hard to interpret.

Thing is, this is a concern for doctors, not lay people. I don’t really care if my worm paste leads to better treatment regimens for other people. I am not qualified to do research or even hand out sore throat lozenges. I just want to keep my wife and myself alive. Anecdotal evidence has done me a ton of good in the past, even though none of my positive experiences have advanced medicine or helped other people. I plan to keep listening to it.

It may not improve medicine if doctors give ivermectin to prevent or treat COVID, but it might be a huge help to me if it works, and the down side is that I might spend a hundred dollars on something useless.

What if I get COVID and land in the hospital? My ivermectin use will be helpful, because it will prove doctors don’t need to give me more ivermectin.

I have frozen skin growths with computer duster spray, and they went away. I have gotten rid of them with capsaicin. I’ve taken bigger and smaller doses of some medicines than was recommended. I took a splint off my hand days before I was told to, because I could tell I had healed. I’ve done a number of weird things doctors don’t recommend, with tremendous success. I have never harmed myself with my efforts. Ivermectin won’t harm me, either.

The vaccines are not looking good. Their effectiveness rates are dropping, they were never all that high to begin with, and it appears I took the worst one offered in America. Masks simply DO…NOT…WORK unless you do an extraordinary job using the very best masks, and no one does that, because it’s unbearable for more than 15 minutes. Social distancing doesn’t work unless it means staying very far from people; 6 feet won’t do it. You pretty much have to stay in your house, alone. If ivermectin doesn’t work well or doesn’t work at all, it won’t be much worse than some of Dr. Fauci’s approaches.

Please remember: Fauci is still completely unable to recommend anything that isn’t pretty likely to fail to prevent contraction of COVID, and he is also unable to recommend a single thing that cures it or even allows nearly all sick patients to remain alive and live with it. Preventative measures have a gigantic failure rate, and so do medical treatments.

Vaccinated people are not just getting sick but dying all over the world. About two months ago, they told us this was impossible. Not unlikely; impossible. Google it. Vaccines are reducing transmission and fatalities, but a lot of vaccinated people are still getting sick, having severe symptoms, and dying. Medical science has some very helpful advice, but Fauci and his colleagues haven’t come close to doing what other doctors have done with diseases like polio, smallpox, rickets, and scurvy.

There are people dying in spite of taking ivermectin, so it’s obvious that even if it’s helpful, it’s not a top-notch cure. It may be true that it fixes some people, but it clearly lets at least some patients die. On the other hand, there is evidence that ivermectin is very good at preventing contraction of the disease, and it’s impossible to measure whether it’s preventing transmission to people who are taking horse paste without a doctor’s involvement. Maybe it is. I think it’s worth trying.

If I can prevent the disease from taking hold, who cares if ivermectin will cure it? A disease you don’t have doesn’t need a cure.

It’s all very interesting, but I must stress this: IVERMECTIN IS MORE POISONOUS THAN CYANIDE. PEOPLE HAVE DIED JUST FROM LOOKING AT THE PACKAGING. DO NOT TRY IT.

I’m musing on its possible benefits for my sake, not yours, based on zero medical education. For all I know, you might take it and drop dead an hour later, along with your worms.

I have a good feeling about ivermectin’s preventative powers. There has to be a reason maskless, unvaccinated, socially proximate Africans aren’t dying in droves. Maybe it’s ivermectin, or maybe it’s a supernatural reason. It’s not a race thing. Blacks in America have been hit hard.

When my wife wants to go somewhere in Zambia, she gets in a jitney and rides with a bunch of people sitting shoulder to shoulder. She goes to markets where people shout and stand close to each other and don’t mask properly. The vaccination rate in Zambia is under 2%. Where is the COVID?

Zambia’s spike pretty much coincided with Florida’s, but it ended very quickly. Why?

Incidentally, Florida’s spike is ending. Its back was broken a few days back. Journalists love to hype it, just as they love to ignore spikes in leftist strongholds, but you can look at the graph yourself. No amount of hatred for Ron DeSantis can turn that graph into a continuing increase.

Liberal journalists should be hesitant to throw stones. The reality is that we don’t know where the next spike will be, because we can’t control coronavirus. Far-left Hawaii is in trouble right now, and we don’t know which state will be next.

The population of Hawaii is about 1/16 of the population of Florida, Hawaii has 1/17.67 of Florida’s new case number, and Hawaii’s graph is still very, very bullish. It’s getting worse at great speed, and Hawaii will pass Florida shortly. Hawaii may do worse than Florida overall, on a per-capita basis. If DeSantis is the problem, how did this happen? Did he vacation in Maui?

When leftist areas were full of COVID and conservative areas were doing very, very well, journalists never said leftism was the problem. When conservative areas did worse, they immediately squawked about Republicans, Donald Trump, global warming, Confederate flags, God, and other things leftists hate.

Anyway, places like Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana are doing poorly, too. If I were a lefto-pundit, I would be cautious right now.

Humanity does not understand coronavirus. We have some feeble tools that are somewhat helpful, but we still do not know what’s going on. We don’t know why one area spikes and another does not, our preventative measures are ludicrously weak, and our doctors have a very spotty record when it comes to saving the seriously ill. We don’t have the fundamental data or the cleverness to make sound judgments about what has caused the numbers we have seen so far or to predict what the numbers will look like in the future. We don’t even know if the epidemic will end.

My feeling is that COVID is the new AIDS. We will never get rid of it, but it will probably become something we can live with. The infection and death rates will become tolerable. Then something worse than COVID will come along because we didn’t repent and pray when COVID showed up.

This is just my feeling, based on my observations of the way the world works. Tomorrow, I might see it differently. Maybe a new COVID variant will show up and make things so much worse we won’t need any new diseases to finish up the apocalypse.

I was listening to a guy I know on the radio tonight.
    He broadcasts from the UP.
He says they are applying it topically as a paste.
    I don’t know.
I’m pretty sure my wife and I got it last January, because we had NO idea of what we had and it wasn’t good.
There was a guy at work at that time that every one was staying away from, but nobody in management thought of sending him home or making him wear a mask. Because he stayed to himself and ran his line.
    What a scam.

“Incidentally, Florida’s spike is ending. Its back was broken a few days back.”

Yep, and it was obvious this was going to happen to anyone who watched the same thing in India and the UK–massive spike, followed by a massive drop.

“My feeling is that COVID is the new AIDS.”

It’s funny you mention this–Pfizer is actually developing a daily prophylaxis pill for COVID that’s similar in nature to the one that people in high-risk groups for AIDS take.

  3. Steve H. Says:

Why would anyone put ivermectin on their skin?

Or are you making a joke at the expense of the UP?

  4. Ed Bonderenka Says:

I just listened to a recording of the broadcast in case I misheard.
Topical. ChiVi symptoms gone in a couple days.
I don’t know the severity of attacks.
    But it didn’t kill them.
