Take Popcorn to a New Level

Let me change your life forever.

You love popcorn, right? But it’s boring. You can put butter on it, but it makes it soggy. You can put grated cheese on it, but it falls off goes under the couch cushions. I have the answer: popcorn popped in bacon grease, covered with powdered cheese. You will not believe how wonderful it is.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup white popcorn
3 tablespoons bacon grease
1/2 teaspoon salt or flour salt
1/3 cup powdered cheddar

You’re wondering where you get powdered cheddar. I found a pretty good deal on Amazon. The company is Hoosier Farms, and they sell a 1-pound jar for a reasonable price. This is pretty much like the powdered cheese from Kraft macaroni and cheese.

Oh, boy. I just realized I should add this to my homemade macaroni and cheese, to cheat.

Anyway, you just pop the corn in the grease, and when you’re done popping, toss the powder in it. Add the salt to the corn and fat before you pop. It won’t look as pretty as factory-made cheese popcorn, but it will taste 3,000 times better.

Flour salt is fine salt that sticks to popcorn better. You don’t really need it if you add the salt before you pop, though.

You will not be able to stop eating this, so don’t try it and then say I didn’t warn you.

You can get other types of powdered cheese if cheddar isn’t your thing.
