New Piece in E Minor Goes on Youtube

NEXT CHALLENGE!

I got my latest musical composition whipped into shape. I want to make it longer, but the basic idea is finished.

It’s a really sad piece. It makes me think of the way believers are going to have to leave others behind. I named it “Out of Sodom.” Maybe I’ll come up with a name I like better.

I put it on Youtube, with a bunch of photos I hope are in the public domain.

I’m starting to feel like I’ll be able to write good music whenever I want. Things are breaking loose.

It’s so great to be able to do the things I’ve always wanted to do. God opens doors, redeems, and restores.

Puts me in mind of Erik Satie.

You know, one of my other pieces bothered me because it reminded me of Satie. His work depresses me. That “Gymnopedie” thing sounds like something a person would listen to while getting ready to hang himself.

I was hoping for an American spiritual sound, but to my ear, this came out more like Chopin, only simpler.

Anyway, thanks for not saying Rupert Holmes.

Your song is very sad, it reminded me of Schindler’s List in a way. But it is also very good. When you sit at your keyboard, close your eyes and let your spirit guide you to the keys. Soon you will find yourself either asleep or singing Praises to Him, and writing at warp speed… Keep on, you’re on the right track…

Wow, that’s weird. It reminded me of Schindler’s List after it started to take shape. It seems to have something to do with Jews and Israel. That’s why I picked those photos.

    Thanks for the encouragement, Leah.

The comparison wasn’t intended to be invidious – I like Satie, particularly the Gymnopedies.
