Well done Steve! Welcome back to You-Tube.
If you had not spent ten million on machine tools you could afford five hundred bucks for a decent and very modern digital camcorder!

Dimension terminology lesson, .980″= nine hundred eighty thousanths, .006″- six thousanths, .0006″= six ten thousanths and so on.
Metrics are done in microns, .300mm= three hundred microns, .006mm= six microns and REAL precision machining! 🙂

Physics permanently contaminated the way I talk about dimensions. I don’t talk or write like a machinist. It drives me nuts to see people write things like “.200” with no leading zero and no symbol for inches.

  4. Milo Says:

Machinist don’t use a lead zero as an indicator there is no major dimension involved with the cut.

Dimensions must be indicated with the ” or mm or the whole project becomes a guessing game.
