Nothing you wrote seemed way out of line in my book.
.
Sometimes we seem to be progressing in the wrong direction, Steve, when infact, it may have been a necessary detour or switchback depending on the contours of the terrain. We ALL make mistakes and do things we regret. But a little ‘Back-stitching’ can be good. In fact, it can make the weave stronger.
.
Keep your eye on that North Star, my friend. You’ll never be lost. ;)

Was the prophet Isaiah "over the line" when he teased the priests of Baal that maybe their deity was too busy to answer their entreaties because he was on the crapper?

I think your blog is safe from devolving into 'Nam. Both Smokey AND Walter agree you weren't over the line.

Calling a spade a spade is not snark. Sometimes the truth stings. It's a fact of life that the obtuse do not respond to gentle nudges. A 2x4 to the side of the head is what is needed. You're fine Steve. Just make yourself a handle foe the 2x4. Easier on the hands.

Ed's right.

Besides, if you do cross the line then we will use the "Safe Word".

I don't think you crossed the line, but it's hard to go back and double check now, isn't it?

>"I don’t want to let my faults drag me back into the pool of smoldering invective and gossip"
Come on. Gimme a break. It's humor! Okay, skip the gossip then (though I have never really noticed any), but let the invective smoulder, would ya please? Cut yourself some slack. "I like tools and God" can get a little old after a while. I mean, that's fine, but I come here for the humor. And that means once in a while ripping into those who need it. Right?
Just an opinion.
Best,
Brian

Steve, you shouldn't regret saying anything you honestly meant or felt.

If you said what you meant, you shouldn't take it down.

If however you stepped over the line of what you really felt, because you were going for the snark, or the funny, or you were just irritated that day.. OK, then maybe you shold take something down, or change it.

I personally don't believe in doing so; I'd rather write a correction or apology etc... later.
